Radar and Collision Avoidance errors (and solution)
Drove my 2018 Sport Hybrid Tech from Upstate NY to Washington, DC for Thanksgiving. The beginning of the trip was a sleet/rain/snow mix. More annoying than dangerous. Just made for sloppy conditions.
After an hour or so, the area around the tachometer/speedometer lit up with a few messages/errors. The main message was along the lines of "Some driver assist systems cannot operate: Radar obstructed". Also mentioned something about affecting the brakes (for collision avoidance). All of the activity occurred at the same time, so I figured all of the individual pieces were related.
Pulled off at the next exit about 10 minutes later and stopped at Dunkin Donuts to do some troubleshooting. Thinking the radar was blocked somehow, I got out of the car and checked to see if anything was obstructing the the area behind the rear view mirror and or the electronics in the boxed area just above the mirror. Nothing amiss.
Got into the manual, checked under radar and collision avoidance. That's where I found the location of the radar. It is embedded behind the Acura badge on the front Grille. I got out and checked that and found a thin layer of icy sleet. Cleaned it off and problem solved.
Interesting design issue. Hopefully someone will benefit from knowing the simple solution.

I've had the same issue with my 11 MDX Adv with ice disabling the CMBS/ACC system in the front grill. So far, pull over and a quick wipe has taken care of the error. I really should disable the system in those conditions because of slushy roads, road muck, and icy patches on the road.

Can you imagine how many thousands of pages the manual for self-driving cars will be? Probably a few thousand just for all the legal disclaimers.
We may see flying cars before self-drivers:
