New ‘20 SH-AWD Tech - traded ‘18 FWD Tech

I’m soliciting member’s thoughts:

I can feel the driving difference between my 32k mile FWD and my new AWD. More so than just the tight newness. Could the larger diameter sway bars that are spec’d for the AWD be put on the FWD and achieve better handling?

Separately, I drive frequently along a beach highway. I noted in the right light, my ‘18 my windshield was minutely pitted (as they all do). Can I wax my windshield to preserve it somewhat?

Waxing won't help the minors chips and pits on the windshield. The only thing that WILL help is to not follow closely behind other cars. At 65MPH, you should be at least 6 cars behind the next nearest car.

of course this is correct. But swirling sand at wind speed - whether vortex from following too closely or natural current wind - over time has an impact.

But it waxing won’t be helpful, I’m not surprised.

From the title it sounded like you've already traded in the '18 FWD? But then in your post it sounded like you still have the '18 FWD. It's a bit confusing.

By the time you notice the effect of sand blast on the windshield, it's already too late to reverse the damage. Your only option is to replace the windshield. On your new '20 MDX, consider installing a windshield protection film. Take a look at this product:

I just add ExoShield to my 18 RLX and 19 MDX along with PPF before the lockdown. Same issue with road rash and pitted windshields living in sandy NM with hwy speeds of 75-85 mph and it is always windy. So far, no issues with AcuraWatxch windshield cameras, normal washing, bug guts, or wiper blades. I was around $200 for the PPF at the only installer I could find at the time in my area.
