My wife's 2017 MDX-SH was throwing Christmas lights all over the dash the last couple of weeks. We had this issue before and I thought it was a bad 12V battery. Her current battery is 5 years old so I went to Costco to get a replacement. Put in the new battery, but Christmas lights was still showing. I brought it into the dealer today. My service advisor knew immediately what the issue was. He said it's common for the Lane Keep Assist camera (Monocular camera) to go bad and causes all the lights to display on dash. They replaced the unit under warranty (thanked God I still have AcuraCare). Saved myself $1300 parts and labor. Just throwing this up here incase anyone have same issue. Kudos to Thomas Acura in Covina for finding the fixing the problem so quickly.
I got my first camera overheat warning on my 19 MDX I park outside at work last summer (internal temps probably +120 degrees F with window tint/windshield shade). It only happened twice; but, worried it can be an issue this summer. I also have 5/120k Acuracare (+90,000 miles on MDX now). I used Acuracare for the first time a few months ago for crack front control arm bushing and a bad motor mount. Good to know Acuracare is working. Acura labor cost was $95 per hour when I purchased my 19 MDX in March/2019 and it is now $200 per hour.
Weird that camera failed all-of-the-sudden. Wife's MDX only has 52k miles and 99% parked in garage most of its life. Very glad I got AcuraCare for her car. I tried to purchase for my RLX but sadly Curry Acura doesn't sell AcuraCare to out-of-state residents anymore.
