Does anyone have the service instructions or the trick to remove the cup holder from the central main console in an MDX2017. Trying to see where and how I can run USB and AUX wiring from the bin to the front of the console. In my previous MDX2012 I could just pull the cup holder vertically and it would snap out but on the new MDX there seems to be a trick (intelligence test?) associated with this task.

Any ideas?

Did you ever figure this out? I know it's hard ago but trying to do the same thing now myself.

This is what I show for my 2019. Might be the same. Let me know if it's what you're looking for -

• Center Console - Remove

1. Lift up the armrest and remove the rubber mat (A), then remove the cup holder rubber mat (B). 2. Remove the bolts (A, B). 3. Slide the center console as needed. 4. Remove the center console panel assembly (A).5. Disconnect the center console panel harness connector (B).
6. Disconnect the connectors (A).7. Remove the center console (B).
1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
