MDX CarPlay

MDX CarPlay

Hi,

Hoping someone can help.
I have a base model 2019 MDX. I am trying to start up the CarPlay on it. The tech screen simply says initiating and is stuck, the CarPlay is not highlighted.
I have the phone plugged into the car with the smartphone usb port.
The Bluetooth does work to make calls.
Am I missing anything to start CarPlay? Do I need to restore the factory settings?

I also have a 2019 MDX and for many years everything was fine with Car Play until one day it only work randomly and not connect (phone would charge though). I took pictures of the weird screens I would get and took it to the dealer countless times. They would never find anything and could not reproduce it.
One day, while I had the error, I took it to the dealer and only then, they agreed to change the whole infotainment computer. My theory always was that the car USB port was the culprit but they wouldn’t change it.
After the computer swap, Car Play improved dramatically and had a successful connect rate north of 90%. Just a a couple of days ago, it started miss behaving again and refusing to connect. The only fix is restarting the engine…
The issue happens with my wife’s iphone as well and tried multiple original apple cables.
