Engine shut off question

Engine shut off question
Question for the MDX Hybrid users out there.
I am still getting used to the no engine noise when I park the car and remembering to press the power button to completely shut off.
The question, is what happens if I forget to shut off and walk away?

Yes. When I walk out with the fob, the engine gets shut off but seems to remain in the accessory position. I have to press the Power button to completely kill it.
I would like to know what happens if I simply walk away without realizing and dont press the Power button at all. Will the battey keep discharging or it gets to a point after x amount of minutes that the car realizes there is no fob around and it would shut itself off.

It might depend the driving mode for the reason the engine is turning off? Sport+ will engage the engine compared to the other modes that transition to EV mode when needed. I keep my hybrid in Sport mode and the engine always turns off a few minutes later if I'm in park. The engine starts up again once I put the MDX in reverse or if I need gas power when EV isn't enough.
I leave the engine running with the FOB in my pocket when I check the mail box for my street. The MDX just beeps at me when the FOB leaves the vehicle and sometimes it may turn off. A lot of times I stay in in EV mode when I get back in to drive from my mail box to my place 5 homes down.
My guess the hybrid will stay on turning the engine on/off until you run out of gas unless to put it in accessory mode or turn it off. Using the remote start might be the best way to ensure the engine will turn off after a few minutes.
