Hello folks , I'm a new Acura MDX owner . (3rd gen) . Looking to get some door edge protector . Any recommendation ? Any experience with door edge films ?

Also looking for splash guards . Is the one at Acura dealership with buying ? Or can I look for any aftermarket deals ? Any recommendation ?

Any guidance will be highly appreciated ...

 

I got the acura ones and they went on easy and were great. I also got 3m for a different car and they were pretty good as well but needed to to have a little more work to put it on because it wasn't precut for the door.

 

We have the clear door edge film from Acura on my parent's MDX. Installed them myself, and have been great so far. Also have the clear rear bumper protector. I'd highly recommend either.

 

Thanks for the input. Can any one guide me where can i find the door edge film and the splash guard genuine OEM part cheaper?

I wouldn't waste your money on 'oem' for door edge film anyhow - I would suggest the clear film. It's not meant to take a full force slamming, but if you absoloutely have to rest your door edge on something, it'll keep the paint and edge clean, plus when installed it's relatively invisible.

Outside of those reasons, it's what the pro shops use (I know the internals of Tint/Paint Protection shops) and if you have a steady enough hand to apply masking tape in a line, you can DIY this. Also, good reminder, I might do this myself!

 

I use oemacuraparts.com for most of my purchases. I think they are a vendor for the forum.

 

Bernardi Acura Parts is also a good one from Boston area.
