Bumper repair
I backed into a low wall that had a bolt sticking out and managed to make a half inch slit in the rear bumper. Is there a way of repairing them? The parking sensors are not damaged.
Acura parts quoted me $500 for the bumper alone! To that I would have to add painting it plus the labor of removing and installing the new one. That sounds well in excess of $1000...

Agree with thoiboi. Body shop may be able to bond it, the repaint it depending on how severe the damage. Bumper may have to be removed, which adds to the labor cost. I'd ask specifically about bumper removal when you take to body shop. If it has to be removed, you may as way pony up for a new one.
If you approach the 1K mark, why not use insurance?

There is a bunch of youtube videos on plastic bumper repair. Might look at few of them for an idea of what it takes. BTW your going to have to repaint the bumper after no matter what.

I purchased my CPO 18 RLX and had an issue with water leaking in the trunk. The dealership found out the rear bumper was repainted after they found a plug was missing. Don't know how bad the fender bender was; but, it wasn't reported and the original owner fixed out of pocket. Acura tested the paint on the bumper and it wasn't as thick as it should be. The result could have been flaking paint down the road or more noticeable paint damage with just a minor bump. I ended up using PPF on the entire rear bumper for an added protection layer.
Might find out how thick the paint should be for the MDX from the dealership to make sure the body shop meets that standard.

OP where you located? I got a guy in NYC (fellow MDX ASPEC owner) can do an ASPEC rear bumper swap. His shop is called 1stop auto collision. He swapped a 17 TLX bumper to the ASPEC, and he offered me to swap mine (I'm saving up the money to get this done). Acura parts department has quoted me $600 for new bumper ONLY (ASPEC of course, for my Tech pkg MDX).
