BMW wheels on MDX
Hi,
New to the forum and new to Acura ownership. I got my wife a new '17. Gorgeous and we love it. Looking for a winter wheel and tire package. Have secured both a set of 19 and 20" Blizzaks, now looking for wheels. I have a set of these OEM BMW style 332's, 19x8.5, ET 33 which should fit with a hub ring. Has anyone tried anything similar? The only thing I'm unsure about is the load rating of the wheels which came off a 5 series. I could also look for a set of 20" wheels but am concerned about pothole damage. The OEM 20's seem pretty robust though. Thoughts? Thanks.

That website you linked to says the wheels are $399 each? That is a lot to spend. You could get a set of Acura OEM wheels for less.

Keep in mind that buying a second set of wheels is going to require a second set of TPMS sensors, too.

Burning Brakes
Assuming that the ET 33 is the offset? If so, that's a lot more of an offset (outwards of the fenders) than the OEM offset of +55 (more inset to the hub). I realize some aftermarket wheels are in similar range, but my experience is when you bring the offset outward you change the front geometry enough to be noticeable. I ended up with Acura OEM wheels with a +55 offset which performed great. Granted, I went with 17" wheels off a '14 TL - so I had more meat on the tire - but it did great for the 3K miles I ran them thru the winter.....

Yup, 33 offset. Tirerack lists wheels for this car with lower offset than that. Pushing the wheels 2 cm out, not sure how much that might affect handling, tire wear. Would look better, at least. Form over function . . .
