Auto Stop/Start Rarely Engages
First off I’ll say it isn’t a bad thing, not really a huge fan of it, but some consistency would be nice. My 2017 MDX Elite will only shut off occasionally at a stop light usually after I’ve been running errands for a while in town. My battery seems to be fine, no issues starting in the cold, but like I said some consistency would be nice.
Does anyone know that the parameters are for the auto stop/start to engage? Is it dependant on the battery condition?

Yes, battery condition will determine whether it works or not.My 2018 hadn't worked since September. So I was thinking temperature had something to do with it. Talking to others at Christmas time, made Me check battery charge level. Found charge level at 40%.So I charged battery to full. Now it shuts off at every stop. What I learned since, is that the AGM battery will still start Your car at 20% charge. If You don't drive everyday the charge level will be low. Cold weather will reduce charge level in all batteries. Honda uses a a dual mode charging system that may charge for 15 minutes after cold start, then drop to 12.2 volts during acceleration and charge to 14,1 volts during deceleration. So if You monitor Your charging system voltage,it will always be fluctuating. If You have battery tested it will show good battery even if charge level is low. Hope this helps!
