Aftermarket Fog or Driving Lights

I didn't purchase the Advance package. Was wondering if any one installed aftermarket lights and if so, how was it installed? Or did most people just bite the bullet and bought OEM? Its a little steep at $500.

I heard the OEM fogs aren't very bright..is that true?
I wanted to get them for our Tech, but it's a bit steep and installation looks very involved.
You need to get a different turning stock with fog switch right?

The factory LED fog light set up is integrated into the main headlight light beam pattern, and it they are every bit as bright as the LED headlights. They are excellent.

The factory OEM Foglight are just auxilary fog light and not actually fog light. So yes it is not bright.

They are not as bright. Just cosmetic appearance and do not do much.

The LED fog lights function to project light in a wide pattern, close to the road surface. It is designed to light up the road surface when the fog comes.

In contrast, the LED headlights are located much higher up on the vehicle, and as a result, may appear to be brighter than the low-slung LED fog lights when being viewed at eye level.

Thank you everyone for the responses, but it looks like we are talking about 2 different lights. I assume those that say it makes a difference and is bright are speaking for 2014-2016 models where the bulbs are changeable? Those that say the LED bulbs are not that bright and is for cosmetics is referencing the 2017 LED lights? Any way to install the 2014 lights into a 2017 bumper so we can change out to brighter bulbs?

I have not done the 2017-19 version. I did install them on my 2015, since even though it is the Elite trim, it still didn’t have fog lights.

I highly doubt you can do it without removing the bumper cover on the 17-19 either. There are trim pieces to remove and new ones to install, which can’t be accessed with the bumper cover on the vehicle. There is also new wiring harness to run and secure inside the bumper cover.
