2017 Acura MDX Auto headlight on
Hi guys, does any one knows what could be the problem with Auto headlight not coming on? I bought this used 2017 Acura MDX Navigation package, at night I found out that the headlights doesn't turn on when it's in Auto. It only comes on when switched on manually.. I have checked all the fuse boxs at the engine side and the one on driver side, but they all seems ok.. does any one knows what I should check next? . Thanks

OK, first I assume you have the head light switch in the correct position? Then likely it is one of two things. Multi function switch failure, or light sensor failure. At night do the dash lights dim as they should? If yes, then I would look at the multi function switch. Either a damaged wire or switch failure.

on my 2019 there is also a sensitivity adjustment for the auto turn on function. It's in the setup menu. Set it to the most sensitive position and see if it starts working. In the least sensitive position outside lights may keep it from turning on

Yes I tried to locate that sensitivity adjustment in the settings but the option is not there. The only headlight settings I could see was the headlights time off.. which you can choose between 60seconds and 15secon15seconds. The sensitivity ajustment is not available..

cover up the light sensor on the dash. On my 2019 it's in the center of the dash near the windshied. With the sensor covered with a thick piece of fabric, headlights should come on after a short period of time, <30 seconds or so.
sensitivity adjustment should be in the setting menu. with the car ignition on, car in park, go to customize settings, auto light settings and you should have a choice of 4 or 5 sensitivities. Owners manual should have the exact sequence to get to the setting.
