I don't have any proof that it isn't but I'm going by the fact that they don't mention this in any of their marketing material so it is not 'next generation' SH-AWD.

However the tranny on the new TLX will probably not be a match for a vehicle that may tow so I doubt there will any 'upgrade' there.

They are still working on fixing the existing bugs lol. Why would you think there will be more changes?

I am on the same boat. don't want 2014 because of 1st yr model. Called the dealer today and they said 2015 will be on the lot around Oct/Nov.
still too far out, I think everybody are clueless now.

I went to the dealer yesterday trying to pick up a 2014 MDX with Tech Pkg but all of their cars got hail damaged. They said they'll give me $500 discount off the lowest price or will repair it for me. I don't know how it's going to be after repair so I decided to wait for the new shipment.
After checking, they said that 2015 MDX will be in with the new shipment in a couple of weeks. Anyone heard anything else about the 2015 MDX release date? Should I wait for the 2015 MDX or get the 2014 with a better discount.
Don't have any extra details on the 2015 though. Googling didn't show up much.

I am in touch with two dealers about the 2015 model, both of whom have placed orders. The pricing has not been released nor the features. I am told the cars will be exactly the same with very minor software changes to the navigation system etc and price increase will be of the same order as for the RDX model. I think $500 discount for hail damage is too low. Most insurance companies total older cars for hail damage. It is hard to repair it. $1500 would be the least discount I would expect for hail damage.
The cars will hit the dealers early June. Expect to see Acura announcement end of May/1st week of June.

The 2015's will be no different than the 14's currently in stock. Better to buy the 14's now as most dealers have them in the color and trim levels on the lot. 15's will hold MSRP until 14's are completely sold. Just FYI.

with all the noises from the engine and interior, I think it's better to wait for 2015 for them to fix some of that. I test drove one last month and all the noises turned me off. Maybe it has to do with the fact that this is the first time they build Acura at the plant in AL

2015's will be no different, just more money. We have 2014's on order and scheduled to be built for quite a while longer.
FYI, the 2014 MDX already has next gen SH-AWD. That's another part of why it lost so much weight and had a huge increase in fuel efficiency.

I was told 2015's will arrive in May/June onward and Acura is accepting orders for 2015 from dealers. Is this schedule still valid?

My local dealers stated 2015s will be coming June/July. Also do you have any information to support that 2014 MDX has next gen sh-awd? I would have expected to see this on their marketing materials but I saw no mention of this at Acura.com or interviews with chief engineer on youtube.

There is no new system, except for the same "next ten" mention now in the TLX...again, compared to the current/previous system as in the TL, it is next gen.
2015 orders are sitting in the system but with the number of 2014's still pending schedule and build, don't expect to see any 2015 MDX's start production until June/July time, or a full year after introduction of the 2014 last summer. I just looked in our order system and that remains the case, for schedule.
Colors, trim levels, etc. all identical.

Any updates on the 2015 model? Maybe some one working at the Acura factory can tell when we can expect to see it in the showroom? I do not want to ask my dealer salesperson. He will know how keen I am for the next modal and make it hard to bargain.

No changes to colors or model line ups. Pricing changes will be announced closer to introduction, once production has started.

From Automobile magazine
http://www.automobilemag.com/feature...a-mdx-pricing/
The 2015 version of the Acura MDX three-row crossover gets a slight uptick in price, with a new starting cost of $43,460 with destination. That’s just $275 more than the 2014 MDX, and the car does not receive any significant changes for the 2015 model year.
This starting price is for the standard 2015 Acura MDX with front-wheel drive. This model comes standard with a rearview camera, automatic climate control, heated front seats, and Bluetooth, while Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive system that costs $2000 extra, as it does on all trim levels. Instead of option packages, the 2015 Acura MDX offers four distinct trim levels with various levels of equipment.
First is the MDX with Technology Package, which adds navigation, an ELS premium audio system, pushbutton start, satellite radio, and various active safety features like blind spot warning, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning for an extra $4275 over the base model. The Acura MDX with Technology and Entertainment Package costs another $2000 and comes with a 9-inch rear video screen and DVD player, along with a 110-volt outlet and heated second-row seats. Finally, the 2015 MDX with Advance and Entertainment packages gains heated and cooled front seats, adaptive cruise control, a lane keep assist system, a wider entertainment screen, collision-mitigating braking, remote engine start, and front and rear parking sensors for an extra $5940. All in, a loaded 2015 Acura MDX SH-AWD with Advance and Entertainment packages costs $57,675 with destination.
All 2015 Acura MDX crossovers are powered by the same 3.5-liter V-6 engine making 290 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque. In combination with a six-speed automatic, this engine achieves EPA ratings of 20/28/23 mpg city/highway/combined with front-wheel drive and 18/27/21 mpg city/highway/combined with all-wheel drive.
