2014 Tie Down Rear Tailgate?
2014 Tie Down Rear Tailgate?
Does anyone see any major problem with me driving about 5 miles with the rear tailgate tied partially closed? I want to drive with a home entry door which would hang about a foot out the back.
I noticed that there's not really anywhere on the rear hatch to "hook" onto, if I were to bungee it closed. Does anyone have any suggestions? It seems like I'd need to wrap a rope or bungee around the entire lower part of the outside of the rear hatch.
Thanks!

Probably doesn't help; but, do you have any short friends? I can get an over +12 inches of extra length in our MDX because my wife is 4'11" with her seat at max up position compared to me at 6'3". We just have to take two cars or I stuff myself in the passenger seat depending on what we need to carry.

I'm sure you could probably pull a rope through the latch and catch, then tie it. I'm sure you'd have to figure it out though.
I do have to commend you on asking for advice instead of saying screw it and causing an accident.

Devices like this exist for standard mechanical latches, but will the MDX tailgate latch close if the tailgate isn’t all the way down?
