2014 Acura MDX Technology Pkg Tire Options
Hi guys -
What do you think are the best tire options for a 2014 Acura MDX Technology Pkg? I live in Colorado so I definitely want something which will do great in all seasons....particularly winter for snow/ice.
Thanks!

No such thing in my experience. I lived in New York State for many years, and found that the best system is dedicated winter tires and then 3 season tires for the rest of the year. Some people balk at the expense, but if you use logic you will see that it really is not that much extra. When you have the Winter tires on, your other set is not getting any wear and will give you a longer service life. The up-front cost of the snow tires is simply the same as buying your second set of "Universal" tires earlier than you normally would. And saving the hassle of even a small accident is priceless, IMO.

I now live in ABQ, NM; but, I'm from Colorado Springs. Both CO and NM can have below freezing in the morning and upper 40s to upper 50s by the afternoon. Snow covered roads are mostly clear and dry a few days after a storm. One of the best all season tires for the type of driving conditions we get are the Conti DWS 06. The Conti DWS 06 do an excellent job with transitions between wet/slushy and dry roads we get for days after a snowfall. These tires are excellent in the other 3 seasons and they are very secure with the 80-90 mph interstate speeds the Colorado folks seem to cruise at normally. I just purchased a set of snow chains, tow strap, and small folding shovel if the snow gets too much when heading to the ski resorts or over mountain passes. Unless you live or travel into the mountains above 7000 feet daily/weekly, Conti DWS 06 is the 99% solution for CO, NM and northern AZ.

I also have a 2014 MDX SH-AWD Tech and replaced the factory Continentals at around 42,000 miles with Pirelli Scorpion Verde All-Season plus (the "plus" designation is an important one). Tire Rack highly recommends and thus far I have happy over the first 9,000 miles in Chicago weather. More quiet and a bit beefier with rim protector. Certainly worth considering...
