TL Brake booster/ master cylinder swap

Hello everyone,

I want to know if anyone attemped to swap a complete TL brakebooster/mastercylinder on a 4cyl TSX to get better brake response and a harder brake pedal?

Thank you

Aren't the piston sizes much larger on the TL caliper?

Using the TL master cyl and booster would result in a harder pedal, but less force at the calipers. So....you'd need to push the pedal harder to get the same response out of the TSX's smaller calipers.

What's wrong with your brakes currently?

Did they feel fine before you did the work?

Did you properly lube ALL the sliding surfaces, including the pad ears?

Do the pads move/slide freely on the bracket?

Did you bed in the pads?

What type of pads?

Yes, the TSX has more pedal movement with less agressive boosting. So...the pedal feels more "natural" or maybe slightly mushy. Idk if selling the car is your best option. But its certainly an option.

- yes, same feeling before with old pads
- everything is properly lube et free without restriction
- yes pad were correctly bed
- OEM Acura pads

Too many thing to correct in this car so I will just get to sell it. I hate the seating position, mushy brake pedal, too smooth clutch pedal and I would like a V6 swap with a 6speed transmission. Already a K24 6 speed in it. But it's a lot a $$ for a daily that see snow and salt...

I have done this mod often on my older EK and EM1, I have installed a brake booter and master cylinder from an ITR which was a 1inch.

TSX MC = 13/16
TL MC = 7/8

So i am pretty sure it would fit bolt on and increase brake feels and response

Now I am searching to find the size of a TL-S 07-08 MC

The RL MC is 7/8 too so no gain vs the TL . On ebay I can put my hand on a set of brake booster + master cylinder for +- 100$.

i have a v6 tsx and compared to our SH AWD TL the brakes on the TSX are much softer. I think its the nature of the calipers too. I was under the impression the brakes are the same size between 4cyl and 6cyl maybe im wrong?
