Is there a way to turn off TPMS?

Hey guys, just got winter tires put on with their own steel rims and I didn't want and don't want to shell out for either a new set of TPMS or to move them over ... is there any way to turn off the warning light in the dash that says 'Check TPMS'?

Ohhh man this is the thread I was thinking about. I found some info about your issue and I posted the response in a similar TPMS thread (Defcon's lol). Anyways, I was on my bros csx forum and there was a member who was saying something about pulling the TPMS fuse out to get rid of the light. I dont know if this is applicable for our cars but its something you can look into

I liked it when it worked but I'll look into that.

I have the same issue.
I have my snows mounted on 16in RL wheels from an 01 RL
Same wheels and tires I have used with our CL-S
I pulled the fuse but the TPS warning lights and message are still there?
So I guess we have to live with it for the winter.

I switched to winter wheels and tires this weekend and my TPMS is not warning me and I did not buy the sensors for the new wheels. Anyone else having a similar issue? Happend on my TSX and wife's CR-V but she called on the way to work this morning and now TPMS is warning her. Shouldn't this be an immediate thing?

IIRC, it takes a couple of key cycles for it to pop on. The good news is that it resets itself once you get them back on.

You could possibly just break the bead on the stockies, remove the sensors, then put all 4 in your spare and inflate to the proper pressure.

That way you'd only have one dismount now & one dismount in the spring, then just air & balance the 4 stockies when you want them back on without looking at the light all winter.

If you had your summer i.e. TPMS wheels in the garage with the cars the cars' computers were still getting a signal from the sensors on the other wheels.

Sensors cost $65 each at Acura. Part #42753-TL2-A51

When I put my 19" alloys onback in the summer, the TPMS shows 40psi, Great. But within an hour or so driving the TPMS Error warning came on MID.

HD, breaking the bead and remove the sensors is one idea, but you may need to buy new washer and valve nut to ensure a tight fit. ( I believe you can buy them as a kit in eBay for $10).

Yeah, duh, good point. I do know the TPMS system freaks out with sensor equipped wheels in the trunk and sensor equipped wheels on the car. It did take a little bit for the sensor to come on when I had the wrong sensors from an 08 TL-S on my 09 TSX.

Yeah, good point also.

IMHO, one should just wait until getting the sensors and not deal with the light.

The tpms fuse controls all of the electronics on your dash, from the radio to the navigation system, I was going to try this with a tech at acura when i put on my winter wheels ( stocks ) .. Unfortunately when we opened up the 09 TSX manual and looked at the schematics for the fuse box, the fuse that is hooked into the dash light for the TPMS is linked into all of the above mentioned items on the dash.
And to disconnect the fuse that just controls teh TPMS wouldn't resolve the light issue. So unfortunately you gotta buy a second set I wish I knew the part number to the full set so I could get it off this bad ass site i found, but I forgot to ask maybe I will when I go back on wed to get my Side rockers ( spoilers ) replaced because the tech put my car on the lift wrong and dislodged them as well as diggin out the plastic with the metal edges of the lift

From my understanding, when the TPMS sensors are not recognized, you can't turn off VSA. This means, if you were stuck in the snow, traction control would be defaulted to stay on when you actually want to turn this off. I would recommend leaving sensors on the tires you want to run during the winter and ride with that stupid blinking light for most of the year in your summer rims/wheels.

I just put on 19's on my tsx and was curious to know if I were to install new sensors into these wheels, do i need to get the dealer to re-learn the sensors? I had a 2008 accord before and had this problem. I put on a set of wheels with sensors but the light stayed on until I got them relearned at the dealer. Anyone know?
