Second Generation TSX Suspension Information

This is a compilation that I have from my research for the CU2/CU4 folks. Not exhaustive, as these are only products that I have looked up and I also want it to cover other things as well like OEM part numbers, chassis bracing, camber/toe adjustment kits, etc. but it's a start.

I'm pasting the information I have to date below, but also have it in Word if anyone wants to add anything. I guess I'll have version control and will just provide updates in subsequent posts within the thread since we can't edit our own posts after some time, I think. Not gonna do vendors and pricing info since that changes pretty frequently, but feel free to post that in here.

Feel free to send or post any comments or additional information. Thanks.

SPC engineering makes rear camber arms.

Ultra Racing chassis braces for the 08+ accord fir the 09+ TSX. These are all already on my car been on for 12+ months. I think honda tuning did an issue on it a few months ago.

Ultra racing has a 19mm rear sway bar which fits in the stock location.

Progress has a 22 mm rear sway bar it requires drilling into the sub-frame for mounting the bigger bolts it uses.

Great list. I'm looking in buying some coilovers soon. Don't forget to include the OEM Honda Euro Sports suspension, M/T, 2.4 08W60-TL3-600A and Sports suspension, A/T 2.4 08W60-TL3-600B.

There's also the Mugen CU2 Sports Suspension.

Great info puppet master. Im sure many of our members will look at this thread when looking at lowering options. I'll write a review about my Megan EZstreet later when I have more time. They have exceeded my expectations thus far though. They ride great...better than my H&R springs for sure

Edmunds posted an educational walk-around of the wagon's suspension, which I believe is very similar to the sedan.

Old news, but Tire Rack lists the H&R coilovers, FYI:

http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/S...toModClar=Base

I know that someone on this forum already has them, and another person has them on order from TR currently.

For those who want a comprehensive primer to handling and modifying your suspension for improved handling, here is some great reading from Mike Kojima, mainly focused on sport compacts:

Making It Stick Part 1: Four basic steps to better handling

Making It Stick Part 2: Four more steps to better handling

Making It Stick Part 3: It's all in the geometry

Making It Stick Part 4: More lessons in suspension geometry

Making It Stick Part 5: Damper fundamentals

Making It Stick Part 6: More advanced dampers

Good reading from StopTech on brakes, technically not suspension, but brakes and wheels/tires are all so closely related and have a significant impact on handling and suspension, and vice versa.

Thanks. It's just something I've done in a "past life" on another forum. I'm just the type who likes to keep good information for future reference, so why not dump it all into one thread.

And yeah, those Kojima articles are great and very useful for any enthusiast.

This was in the Tein install DIY thread, but it is VERY helpful info for coilovers that use OEM top mounts:

Thanks for the compilation. tons of useful info, its like a shortcut for us. thanks guys.

question tho.
if i want a subtle drop, can i use
Eibach for CU4 on a CU2 car? just so that ill get .8 drop only ???

Eibach (CU2 and CU4)
Drop CU2 – 1.0 front 1.0 rear, PN 4077.140
Drop CU4 – 0.8 front 0.8 rear, PN 4079.140

question tho.
if i want a subtle drop, can i use
Eibach for CU4 on a CU2 car? just so that ill get .8 drop only ???

Eibach (CU2 and CU4)
Drop CU2 – 1.0 front 1.0 rear, PN 4077.140
Drop CU4 – 0.8 front 0.8 rear, PN 4079.140
Im sure others will chime in on more details, but I would say no because the the CU4 is heavier and has a different weight balance so the springs may not work as well. I think that if you do it, the front end will drop less than the rear because the front springs would be stiffer as it was designed to hold up the V6.

If you search, a few members have the eibach and they aren't really that low and is fairly subtle.

Bump for updates on other coils like ISC along with other suspension mods and refinements.

And for the search impaired.

Konis installed on a 2G TSX, includes discussion as well as install pictures and tips. Some adjustments had to be made for certain stock components to be reused with the Koni dampers, and this thread documents that very well. There are also pictures of the car with the Konis installed with stock springs, as there is a slight reduction in ride height.

This is tremendous for myself just getting started so thank you.

So the consensus is that on wagons, springs (although currently listed as compatible from sedan to wagon by many manufacturers like Tein) will most likely not hold up in the rear over the long term and begin to sag in the bum hence all the coilover speak, correct?

I used to think that, but am starting to change my mind. If you look at the two wagons posted below that are on Eibachs, which lower the car 1" all round, it's not as bad as you might think. You can see the difference in wheel gap when I wagon is lowered with Eibachs vs when a sedan is lowered with Eibachs, though.

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tsx-tires-wheels-suspension-300/tsx-wagon-suspension-resources-links-pictures-etc-882217/

Eibachs are good springs, and over time, should not droop significantly. However, one point that I failed to bring up in the other discussion is HOW are you typically using the trunk of the wagon. I don't carry heavy cargo in it, but if I did, I probably would not even consider dropping it, or I'd get coilovers and maybe only lower the rear 0.5" to allow for that.

If you don't mind, maybe we could continue this discussion in the wagon specific thread. Then again, I link them all back and forth anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Excellent step by step of installing coils on a wagon, very similar process for a sedan:
