Lowering your ride is essential to your game. I learned that at a young age

So it depends if you want game or not?

With springs
Pros:
Reduced wheel gap.
Better cornering.
Cheaper than coil overs.

Cons:
You are bound to scrape the bottom of the front bumper and the winter months are even worse for scrapage with snow drifts and ice buildup on the streets/driveways.

you, sir need to research a little more.
in your other thread that was linked, a lot of info was presented.

Also, remember your suspension has a major say in how your car behaves in evasive maneuvers (in case you have to suddenly steer around something).

Most of the users here, if lowered, are on some sort of coilover system. You can lower the car to the exact height you want, rather than having to pick between springs that drop you certain amounts only. If you change wheel setups in the future and the gap changes, or need to raise your car for the snow, you can do it easily if you have coilovers.

You can go with a good spring/shock combo, but you have to do your research to see which ones match together the best. Most people who go this route only want a small drop, such as the a-spec set.

You should be able to get a comfortable ride with either route...you just need to decide what's important to you.

As for Megan versus Tein...I haven't heard much about the former. More people use Tein, including me. If you choose Megan, be sure to write a review here after a month of driving on it.

No wonder why you keep getting kiddie results, because you're like a kid who keeps asking the same things over and over.

^ coilovers are adjustable and they don't wear out your shocks. with springs, while it might take a while, you'll eventually blow out your shocks from the added stress. IMO they're the right way to go.

^yeah but if you pair springs with an aftermarket shock, it will be just as great as a coilover system

Just like anything in this world, you have to know what direction you want to head.

Ecko, are you lowering the ride for LOOKS or PERFORMANCE?
if you're after looks, get a coil over system. you'll be able to drop as low as you want and adjust damper.

if performance is the name of the game, I'd pair koni yellows with your choice of spring.

but then again, thats the beauty of having multiple vendors and manufactures. you can pick and choose what route you want to go.

^ you still won't have the flexibility of a coilover system, but i can sort of agree with that. Also, I didn't think there were aftermarket shocks for the cu2. how much do they run?

Ironically, the kids have managed to learn how to use the search feature and don't bombard us with redundancy.

flexibility of lowering and raising? LOL i've done at least 5 coil installs.
that one guy on those info commercials are right, "SET IT AND FORGET IT"

its better to get the height right the first time. I sure as hell aint doing the work again a 2nd time.

why is this so ridiculous? just because you don't want to set it more than once, doesn't mean other people won't want too. and what if the height that you want your car isn't supported by any of the aftermarket springs? also, what if you don't get the height right the first time? coils allow for you to change it up. ie flexibility....

^unless you're going for looks and you have a super aggressive wheel that you want to compliment with a super aggressive drop, the smart thing to do is to do it right the first time.

I've learned from the first car I did. DUMMMPED. but then a couple days later, i get a call " hey justin, lets raise the car"
we raise it.
a couple days later "hey justin, lets lower it."
FAWKing Christ.

it really isnt fun.
not to mention performance LOSS when you go super low.

I too would like to get some feed back from individuals who have had both springs and coilovers on their TSX. I'm not sure how many there are on this forum who have had both. In addition, mods will always be done to cars....but typically they individuals who buy second hand cars do more mods. Give it a few years as the 2G is still fairly new and I'm sure there will be (in the future) some on this forum who have had both coilovers and springs.

Anyone who's had both please post to this thread, because someone's not like my humor

I'm more interested in objective reviews for these parts, but typically all you hear is ....it handles so much better, looks so dope, much better...etc.... we need to see real data which typically is not available and the feed back is no better than my chezzy pictures

Salom data and lateral grip data is what is really needed. There should be a third party who test the 'actual' performance benefits of these parts and they can be certified by this 'third party' as no end user will want to put financial resources into testing these products objectively.
