Painting BBS Cs5 ?
new to azine, i own an 09 tsx and i just purchased http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...t+Silver+Paint these wheels to go on in a few weeks, i wanted to paint them all black but was informed that powder coating would be my best option and was then told that the aluminum would cost a ton to sandblast which is required for powder coating being they need to strip the silver paint off which i ordered them in, what exactly would be my best option into going about painting these

just get them painted regular why do you need powder coat? and if you just want all black just plasti dip the rim much cheaper and you can peel it off when you want to go back to regular color.

because bbs are quality expensive wheels and theres a good chance that once you paint them black theyll look like any other shit-tastic set of cheap black rims that might be confused with steelies at first glance

Well so does painting if done correctly. and if you do it at a good shop you can get lifetime warranty. curb a rim thats powedercoated and your going to have to do the whole wheel again, paint is just a touch up

what kind of a shop will paint these? instead of powder coat?

Any reputable body shop in your area, im not sure where your from but im in CT and was charged 350 for all 4 wheels and got a 10 year warranty against peeling and paint defects.

I have black wheels (I got them used and they came powdercoated), I would not advise to do it. It looks good sometimes, but most of the time it's just too dark and no details show. Keep them silver, or go gunmetal, but not darker.
