Negative camber and stock wheels?
Hey guys,
I've just lowered my car recently and I went to get a wheel alignment today. The computer read:
Rear left: -3.39
Rear right: -3.56
Front left: -0.53
Front right: -1.16
They said they can't do anything about the negative camber so they only fixed the toe.
Also, when they selected the vehicle, they selected 'HONDA Accord 3.0L V6 SOHC VTEC. Prod. 2004-2006' instead of my actualy vehicle, does that matter?
Anyways, so my questions are..
1. Would it be stupid to get a camber kit for stock wheels?
2. Can you even get a camber kit for stock wheels? o_o
3. If so, can I use the kit for both my stock wheels and my new rims? I know my new rims will probably need SOME negative camber, but yeah.
4. Do these questions even make sense?
Thanks in advance guys.

1. Would it be stupid to get a camber kit for stock wheels? No. Getting a camber kit will allow your tires to wear evenly and last longer.
2. Can you even get a camber kit for stock wheels? o_o. Yes. The car has a rod in place to keep the camber in check. The problem is that it is not adjustable, and becomes too long when you lower your car. Thus pushing your wheels out at an angle and giving you that negative camber. A camber kit is adjustable, so you can straighten your wheel/tire back up.

4. Do these questions even make sense? Yes.
Also check out Jgarcias thread. He just put on a camber kit on the stock 17s. Lowered on stechs.

Oh whoa, thanks a lot for the help swarlos! Anyone know any good camber kit brands? And what are their price ranges? Australia doesn't sell any for the Accord Euro/TSX yet I don't think so I have to buy it from overseas
Hahah Ed, I just want my tyres to last longer! Such uneven negative camber I don't even know how to install the camber kit.. and if I do, would I need another wheel alignment?

I just bought SPC 67545 camber arms. They look pretty solid, and I think some other members have been pleased with them as well. They were under USD$200.

Based on your specs I would recommend the following:
INGALLS Front Adjustable Ball Joints (qty of 2 needed):
http://store.excelerateperformance.c...0/i-60159.aspx
INGALLS Rear Adjustable Toe/Camber Arms (qty of 2 needed):
http://store.excelerateperformance.c...5/i-60220.aspx
You might be ok with the negative camber in the front if the toe is zeroed out but you will definitely want these rear arms.

imo they are easy to install, just depends on your level of mechanics...you will need another alignment. be sure to tell the alignment shop how you want your camber and toe set. i wanted a bit of negative camber so i left my rears at -1.25.

What we've found to recommend to our customers is a 1-arm set-up for any drop up to about 1.5" anything further and the toe is affected (no matter how much you adjust the one arm, you will begin to affec the other two).
3 arm for a drop 1.5" or greater for full adjustment in the rear (highly recommended especially if going with coilovers -- BASED ON YOUR SPECS THIS IS WHAT I'D RECOMMEND since you have 3 degrees of camber) : http://throwdownperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=147
1 arm for the rear : http://throwdownperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=161
Also if you are concerned about front camber (rear cambers much easier than the front, but some need ball joints to get back to full stock specs or to dial in their front if going for a certain stance), here are also the front ball joints : http://throwdownperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=509
All of them are listed as a full set (PAIR) for both sides. Had a few customers order from elsewhere by mistake and only order one side lol...so don't do that

Oh whoa, thanks a lot for the info Throwndown! I'm really interested in the 3 arm kit but omg is it expensive... For now, I can only afford the front ball joint thingy.
Front camber won't go any further than -1.5 would it? Even if I get new wheels etc?
Thanks,
Steven
