i am going to leave mine alone. the setting they came with should be sufficient enough for regular lowering. tampering with the spring load WILL void the warranty. only mess with it if you want to slamm it all the way down, more than the regular setting allows.

fart = butt rape.

yep - that's about right

I obviously don't care what size tire you put on your car, but I don't want you coming back here moaning that Acura voided your warranty, you sued them in small claims court, you lost and now CARMAX and DMV branded your car as an odometer rollback.

That's why I keep talking about unintended consequences. Even if you disregard them, you need to consider them.

If you would rather play ostrich and go through life ignorant (none of this is directed at you ed) then don't bother reading my posts.

The fact that using a incorrect tire size may void your warranty is not opinion - it is a fact. You are certainly free to disregard that fact, but that doesn't turn a fact into opinion.

Stock, I would not change the spring preload, just the compression dampening. If you want a more aggressive spring, just step up to a more performance oriented coilover.

I noticed that too when I had it slammed.. However, I raise it back up a little bit and took care of it. However, I will be installing front and rear camber kit in the coming weeks and add a bit of negative camber to fix it permanently.

Depends on where you are. Megan is based in Socal and most vendors are drop shipping from Megan directly. Usually the vendors who have it in stock are $30-$50 more than the lowest you will probably find on the web.

Any additional feedback on how these are working out? Specifically ride quality and damping.

I'm still loving these coilovers. For a daily driver these are great. I just installed 20mm rear spacers and car looks even better. I will post picks when I get a chance.

Thanks, so no issues with overly bouncy or hard riding rear end? (NO HOMO)

No issues whatsoever. I have already put 3k miles on since posting, with the boot full and empty. I highly recommend these for daily/spirited driving. I'm so glad I went the extra mile for these than just swaping out the stock springs for Tein H-Techs.

They come fully assembled with their own top hats. You just have to double check the factory spring preload is zero (see Megan's site for more info), it usually is, ensure that the top hats are secure, and it's a straight swap with your stock set up. No need for spring compressors or disassembly.

Perfect, gonna try these for my 2011 Wrx. At that price you can't really go wrong, especially since they have top hats included!

Soooo much drama. Now that the tire issue has been beat to death, I'll get in here and subscribe for updates. Downpipe arrived and ready for install. I'm guessing you haven't installed camber kits yet or did I miss that?

Sorry for the late reply, too much work going on. Anyways, I did not install any camber kits (yet). I just replaced my Dunlop Direzza's after 22k miles and had some mild cupping on the inside. Still waiting on my 25 mm spacers to come in. I will have 20mm (f) and 25mm (r). Should look much better. I plan on installing my RV6 downpipe today

Still love the Megans? People seem to love the Megans on this site for the CU2. In the past, Megan use to be a joke in the car world. Have you guys ever owned a different brand of coilovers? Just curious as to what other brands these are being compared to? I'm trying to not spend money on my TSX, but these are way cheap. A lot of times, you get what you pay for, but so many people seem to like these.

Anyone ever see a shock dyno on the shocks used on the Megans? Any noises or issues after a few thousand miles? Thanks for the feedback!

i had tiens, black works , skunk 2, form functions and cut springs lmaoo :-p but to answer your question there a good company from what i can remember they are made in the same place as bc coilovers dont quote me but i know its a well known brand. they are solid they go lower than many other applications for our cu2's and in all honesty it rides better than stock to me and im tucking tire!!!! price is amazing also ez streets can be bought for 650 - 750
and the regular street series can be bought for 800 - 1000. ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT my .02

Thanks for the info. I've always had the more performance oriented coilovers in the past. On the CU2 I would like to keep a nice ride as I don't plan on tracking it. Anyone have any feedback on the street series? I see on their site, the street setup has a stiffer rear spring rate, 32 damper adjustments instead of 15 on the EZ and pillow ball upper mounts.

EZ Street Series Rates
Front: 560
Rear: 280

Street Series Rates
Front: 560
Rear: 336

shady_cu2 has the street series i believe.

i have the ez for almost 6 months now. here's what i have to say about them.

1. price is great
2. comes with top mount so it's a straight swap with oem suspension
3. ez's 15 adjustable is more than enough for me.
4. it's blue

1. i only got this because it's the cheapest. i'd go with teins just because it's made in japan lol (but tein street series don't come with top mount, you must reuse oem ones)
2. it's a bit difficult to adjust height i think. but it's my first set of coils so maybe im just a noob
3. so far no problems with it
4. i heard bc is pretty good as well?

Yes, price is great, that's what kind of worried me. Megan in the past just has the "cheap parts" rep like OBX, APC etc. back in the day. They could have come a long way, and it looks like they have.

From what I've heard, a lot of these off the shelf kits are mostly made in other countries by the same place.

I love the KW V3's, but there a little over kill for just wanting a drop with adjustablility. Plus I think they only make the V1's for the CU2.

How are your Megans holding up? Do they ride as smooth as stock on the softest setting? I'm contemplating on getting these soon over the BC coils, mainly due to $$$.

Ive put my megans on the softest setting before. And I guess they are smooth...but more than anything I would say its floaty??? Like I feel like if I went fast enough I could get air off a big speed bump.

So far so good for me. No issues with my Megans and I have them set perfectly where I want them which is just a bit firmer than stock without being harsh.

Over 15K now on the Megan EZs.. I will say it again for anyone who's doubting the Megans... At $600 range, you can afford to take roll the dice which was what I did and I am very surprised as to how well they performed. On my RX8, I also went with Megans but in the Street Series with 32-way adjustments. I don't auto-x my cars so I am not too worry about the "track-ready" aspect of these coilovers.

I definitely will not be tracking my car either. I would just like to know how these perform on a day to day basis, in other words, how comfortable they are compared to stock. Can you feel every little bump on the road like I did with the Function and Forms in my old car? Or are they as smooth as stock? Somewhere in between? I hate choosing suspension.

The are very smooth and not harsh at all. As most of us stated before, you can dial in the dampening to your level of comfort from boat like to feeling every bump in the road. Now get off your ass and get a set

Hey all. Thinking about purchasing coilovers for my Sportwagon and had an installation question. Do you have to access the top of the rear shocks for removal and installation of the rear coilovers from inside the trunk? If so, what needs to be removed to access them and any tips or tricks to share?

Also, I read somewhere that grinding is required for the rears to fit. Is this always the case?

Thanks!

No grinding was needed for Tein, and I can't imagine it would be for others. For access to the tops, just remove the pop off covers in the hatch under the cargo cover ends.

Thanks. Had another question. Has anyone had any issues with warranty service of any kind -- not just suspension related -- or gotten grief from the dealer when taking the car in for service with the coilovers installed? Trying to get a feel for how these may effect my warranty. I realize I most likely won't be covered for suspension related issues any longer but want to see if this mod voids the entire warranty.

Yes, but then you need to adjust the ride height, and that can be tedious.
