Looking at MB battles. I have a set of free tires to put on. Need advice!

I have a 2010 TSX V6 on stock suspension. I plan to keep it at stock height for at least the foreseeable future.

I've been eyeing the MB battles for a while and I think I'm about ready to finally buy some. First question is, where is the best place to buy them? eBay? Is 18x8 with 30 offset a good choice?

Also, I have access to a free set of practically brand new 235/40/18 tires. Will this setup on stock suspension look okay? I saw BobbyC saying he wishes he had gone with 240/45/18. I don't entirely understand the differences between the first 2 numbers.

Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

according to this tire calculator
235-45R18 vs 235-40R18 vs 245-45R18 - Tire and Wheel Plus Sizing | Tire Size Calculator

234/40/18 is 3% too SHORT!
which will result in your speedometer reading too fast!

the 245/45/18 more closely resembles the OEM specs

Thanks for the reply. That's unfortunate considering they're free tires!

Yep 18 X 8 +30 is what I have here. I'm lowered on S techs though and to be honest I thought it looked a little odd before lowering with the flush fitment and wheel gap. Up to you though. I bought mine from discount tire direct in 2011 for $700 even. Mine with 245 40 tires is slightly less weight than stock so that is a plus. I have had really good luck with these and still like them.

18x8 +30 will look funny on stock suspension.

245/40/18 most closely resembles the stock 225/50/17's diameter.

Stock diameter is 25.85".

245/40/18 is 25.71".

245/45/18 is like 26.6x". Enormous.
