Can these wheels be salvaged? *WARNING* Not for the faint of heart!

I'm going to start off by saying that I DID NOT fuck these wheels up! My buddy had them on his G35 and apparently he couldn't stay off of curbs. But anyways....

Just wanted to know what you guys think. Can they be salvaged? Do you think it's worth it? They are Volk TE37 19x9.5 +22 Front / 19x10.5 +22 Rear in a black chrome finish.

I want them for the TSX!

On to the heart breaking pics...

Salvageable, but the amount of money to refinish that would be retarded, you better get that shit for a crackhead price.

Aggressive but it can be done.

Try getting a quote from
vr wheels
memory fab
cz wheels
rotiform
etc
etc

Your boy cant park for shit LOL

Why not ceb?

Slick I think ttk5 is running similar specs so it's possible & I'm willing to take on the challenge!

None of those companies are local to me if I'm not mistaken... and I don't want to deal with shipping.

First off, holy shit. The guys are right your buddy loves curbs or cannot park. Second aren't volk wheels made from a forged block of aluminum. I don't know carp about fixing rims but wouldn't they have to weld aluminum to the affected area then machine it down. I would think that the heat of where they weld would compromise the rim at that spot. And it looks like one rim has stress cracks or might just be the paint that cracked. Again I just thinking out loud here.

You make valid points, although they are not stress cracks... just the paint finish cracking. And I'm guessing that is the only way to fix them.. welding on some aluminim.

I think the rears will be fine depending how low you are cause I still have a .5in ish space between the tire and fender but the front will definitely need a pull which I personally think looks dumb. But if you like the wheels, don't mind having that gap between your body and front bumper, and get this for dirt cheap go for it. Repairing those things look pretty expensive.

I wouldn't. The amount you're going to spend restoring those might be more than they are worth. You could probably find a set used on my350z/g35driver, NASIOC, evolutionm.net, or other places for less, and with greater peace if mind. My main worry would be other damage than the curbage that would affect structural integrity of the rim overall. Looking at the 2nd picture, top rim in the background, looks like a pretty bad bend. Might just be the camera angle though. Either way, I'd stay away personally, even if they were free.

You can fix virtually any rim but the cost of refinishing these and testing to assure that they are not damaged internally will be prohibitive.

Yes, you could grind them down and use tricks to fill in the low spots but that would not be a proper repair and still cost a couple of hundred per wheel. Then you'll have balancing problems.

You guys are crushing my dreams here.

The rears are not bent, just curbed bad. It's the two front ones (last three pictures) that are pretty f'ed up.

Friends shouldn't let friends drive drunk on Volks.

I want to repair them so bad, and coat them in a nice red like below;

I'm determined to make them fit, lol.

And we are talking dirt cheap. Under $500.

He sold the G35 and doesn't need them anymore.

If I can fix them for around $1000, I'll be ~$1500 in. I'm sure I can make a decent profit if I don't end up using them.

Found a local rim shop who's willing to take on the challenge. They do great work and have been in business for a while.

Heading there this weekend to get a quote. Wish me luck, LOL.

Give me a few months.... if I didn't have to get my GF an LV Bag for our Anniversary this month, I'd have them fixed this weekend. But I'll probably fix one at a time just to see how they come out.

Lmao. That will result in a GF and no or wheels!

You know what they say... Happy wife, happy life! LOL

Plus, she's been hinting at wanting one for a while now and since she's in school full time and only works 20 hours a week, she can't afford it. I work full time and am also in school, and even though I told her I couldn't afford it this year... I want to surprise her since Christmas and our Anniversary are only 2 days apart.

I'm taking the wheels to a shop this weekend to get an estimate, I will keep you guys updated!!! They may be done sooner than I think.

I can't believe some guys on a local forum are recommending JB Weld to fix these, LMAO. These wheels need Jesus himself to come down and fix them. Thank god I found his equivalent...

typical asian behavior (im guessing your girl is asian haha)
were all such label whores.

i cant say much. i have a lv belt and a hermes belt that i paid way more than i care to say.... theyre so pretty though

dont get a LV. theyre kinda played out now... if you really wanna ball, get her a hermes
asians dont know about hermes yet. hehe

I have a red Hermes belt myself that my GF got me for my 21st birthday. Love it to death but try not to wear it too often. I have a YSL one as well that I wear more often. Then the played out LV/Gucci that are worn out and like 3 years old..

My GF is not Asian, she's something far worse.... Colombian!!! Lol

She's literally been wanting the same bag for over 2 years now.. I think it's about time I stop being a cheap ass LOL. It's only $850.

On a different note, I received a quote from www.wheel-repair-specialist.com today to fix the damage.

$150 per wheel includes road force balancing. But I believe if I wanted them painted, it will be extra. Not bad I guess. I was expecting $200 per wheel.

Let the fun begin!

hahahahah!

yea.. $850 isnt bad for a LV purse.
i thought it was one of those $2k + ones.

my mom likes LV. (typical asian)
i got her a pretty nice burberry bag a few months ago. she seems to like it.
they have pretty cool bags and you can get some that are not astronomical in price.
i think the one i got was around a grand.

she gave us so much money when i got married, she practically paid for it herself. lol

$850 for a bag?? That's about $800 overpriced. Sucks for you. I always wonder why people spend stupid amount of money on clothes and accessories. They just pay some children in another country to mass produce garbage.

Get her a $50 normal people bag and spend the remaining $800 on something awesome like a hot air balloon ride or a ski trip.

Fixed it for you.

On a more serious note, some people really their fluff, so if that is what turns her on, and the OP can afford it comfortably, then where is the harm?

the same reason why mugen/js/pwdjdm..etc costs waaay more than similar parts on ebay. its all in the quality of the product.

to me its worth having a nice watch, belt, wallet, clothes..etc
theyre well made with high quality material, and come with great service if anything should ever happen to em.

i have returned a pair of 2 year old jeans because they ripped and got a full refund. you cant do that with levis.

I can find a bag for less than $100 that will last just as long as an ugly LV bag. It's easy to find quality name brand (normal people name brands like Calvin Klein, etc) clothing/accessories without spending insane amounts.

To be realistic though, I have to remind myself that the vast majority will say I am wasting money by spending it on mods for my tsx. I really want to keep arguing but I think in most cases I will come off as hypocritical.
