Another "Will they fit" thread--> 18x9.5 -38

I'm pretty sure these might not fit but just want to make sure since it's such a good deal I don't want to pass up.

18x9.5 -38
245/40/18
My rear camber is at stock settings
front is about stock as well.

I am dropped on tein street advance at their recommended height setting which is about a little more then an inch in drop all around.

What at do you guys think??

those specs arent terribly aggressive....
if you are open to the ideas of making them fit...via playing with fenders, playing with height and lastly playing with camber, you will have no problems with fitment

if however, you are looking for the LEAST amount of work possible....maybe choose a less aggressive offset or width...as throwing on wheels takes effort.

it's not plug and play. you will have to make them fit by playing around with variables....height, camber and fenders

then raise the car....

there are FOUR variables that you can play with. (i forgot one in my earlier posts)
add some camber, add height, massage fenders, and lastly play with tire specs

I have some 18 X 9.5 on my WRX and very curious to see if they fit on the TSX. Running 265 35 18 tires though. I did have the goal in mind to test fit them for the TSX community since they share the same bolt pattern. If you can wait up to 10 days I can probably commit to getting that done by next weekend 4/23/17.

That would awesome if you could. I'm sure the 265 tire will be just to big but I'm curious about the actual rim.
I would contact the guy whose selling the wheels to test fit them but he's an hour away from me.

do you mean +38, because -38 is crazy aggressive and you will need a wide body.

yeah... do you actually mean +38 or -38? that's 76mm difference in offset; ~8cm wider than an already fairly aggressive setup for our cars!

Honestly I think they're gonna rub unless you roll the fenders. Especially with 245/40s up front. 245/35 you might be able to get away with, but it's not an ideal sidewall.

I decided to go with a safe 18x8.5 45et. Now I need to decide if I want to go with a 235/40 or 245/40 tire.

I vote for 245s. I feel most of your mods are performance oriented or serve some kind of true function. You'll probably regret going 235 knowing you could've gone 245

Yeah, wouldn't make sense to go with 235 after doing some math. The 245 is closer to stock wheel ratio and will have a larger patch.
I was just concerned about sidewall swaying. I just hate the side to side rolling of the car when I'm doing some spirited driving.

sidewall flexing would be more of the brand of tire, and how they make the sidewall

obviously, dont go for cheap ass tires..

Btw, I decided on konig hypergrams. They weigh in at 17lbs per wheel and are flow formed. As far as tires go, some g-force comp 2 a/s.

How do you like your Teins Street Advance? I have been doing a lot of reading and it seems the majority of people here really like them. I have had KWs and ground control on my old vehicles and was planning on ordering a set of STs for my wagon.

Hows ride quality before and after the tires? I have had Dunlop Direzzas in the past with similar sidewalls. My turn in and traction out of the turn improved significantly but lost some ride comfort over harsh bumps on the street.

Excellent stance.

Thanks! I love my tein SA! I had tein SS on my last car (92 Civic hatch) and I loved that setup too. If I had anything to complain about it, I would ask for a more stiffer ride setting. I currently have it set to the hardest setting and it rides great but I'm one for a really rigid "racecar" type of feel.
I thought about getting k-tuned coilovers since they are 32 way adjustable but the SA is truly a great street coilover for the price.
Coming from stock wheels and tires, my ride comfort is very similar with the new wheels. It is a slightly harder ride since the sides are shorter but the performance outweighs all that.
I have no regrets.

I am starting to lean towards the Street Adnavce from all of the reviews I read, plus the cheaper price compared to STs can't be beat.
