245/40/19 with lowering springs. Will I rub?

Hey Guys,

Anyone have 245/40/19 on Eibachs springs have any issues with rubbing? Should I go with 35s instead? Prefer 40s for added protection/comfort.

Thanks!

Wheels are Enkei GTC01 19x8.5 42mm offset.

Puppetmaster thanks for compiling that list. Looking through it now.

I had 245/40/19 tires on 19x9 +45 wheels and I rubbed a tiny bit in the rear when I had passengers. I had H&R springs which is a greater drop than the eibach though

I've been going through old posts but havent been able to find any verifiable info regarding this exact setup. MrOtocinclus has the same setup I'm going for (Enkei GTC01 19x8.5 +42) with Eibach springs but he is running 245/35/19 tires.

I live in NYC so having more tire (245/40/19) is reassuring with all the potholes I have to deal with.

I guess for me it comes down to

Go with 245/40/19 with the possibility I will rub and have to roll my fenders. Or try 245/35/19 and sacrifice the handling/comfort/protection that comes with more tire.

hmmmm

DAMN IT NO!!!! NO!!! another 2nd gen TSX with GTC01s in the Tristate no!!!

you will rub, dont put those wheels on they suck, they look ugly!!!

all jokes aside I have the same wheels I have 245/35/19's and Im lowered, I drive to queens and Manhattan area and no problems; honestly I dont see much difference in having 40 and 35 series tires for comfort/handling/protection..I mean isnt like mm difference... you should always try to avoid potholes anyways

It's a 1/2" difference in amount of sidewall -- that's not a very small difference. I would not run 35 profile tires around here either.

Avoiding potholes is not possible most of the time, always sounds funny to me when people say that. Sure, let me slam on the brakes with cars on my ass and swerve into oncoming traffic 20 feet away from a pothole.

245/35s would be a more correct size though.

Stan

Haha, you might get your wish! Got a hugeeee tax bill -- probably not wise to spend $$ on wheels right now. hmmmmm yolo!? You ever worry about getting your wheels jacked? C'mon convince me not to get them, please.

@all, never had to roll fenders. Glad to know its not a big deal.
