2009 TSX TPMS otions for a second set of tires
TPMS – Can anyone confirm that if I purchase the identical TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS (oem, made by Pacific Part No. 42753-TL2-A51) and mount them on a second set of rims, that I will still have to visit the dealer twice a year (fall and spring) when I change from summer to winter tires. Does the system only recognize one set of sensors or will it recognize a second set as well?
My two options are;
1. Purchase new rims / wheels, sensors and winter tires. Do the mounting of the sensors and tires at the dealer the first time, after that I can switch the tires myself. Some have stated that a visit to the dealer will be required to relearn the TPMS every time I make the change. If you have had this experience I would appreciate your feed back.
2. Switch the existing sensors each time I do a tire change. This sounds like pain and I’m trying not to use that option.
3. If I purchase a set of steel rims for my winter tires and do not put on a set of pressure sensors, what is the outcome? Will I have to live with a TPMS light “ON” on the cluster or will the system give an audible warning as well? I can live with a visual warning (warning light on instrument cluster), but I CAN’T live with the audible warning.
Thank you.

You don't have to go to the dealer at all. I have 2 sets of TPMS sensors, one set still installed on my stock set of wheels and tires, and another set on my 19"s which are on the car. I had a tire shop mount and balance the tires for me and they installed the sensors. After putting the wheels on the car the car picked up the new sensors instantly.

WTH happened to my garage
What is the difference between the years/models as far as the TPMS's? Like...I put 08 TL-S wheels/sensors on my 09 TSX and they wouldn't work. Are they different bluetooth frequencies or something?

But even so, if you bought a set then had the dealer program them once, you shouldn't ever have to have them programmed again, even if you swap on a new set of wheels with different sensors.
