is 20" TOO much?

Hi guys, i've spoken to a few wheel shops here and there and other people from australian forums (i'm from australia) about whether 19 or 20 inch is the better option for our CU2

So in terms of ride quality, some shops say my car would be fine with 20s, not much difference or something, where as some people warn me about the mileage concern, tire wear, and also the fact that since the tires are going to be so thin, a pothole or 2 could virtually cost me a wheel or two, just wondering if anyone's put on 20s yet to know if it would be that bad at all??

They do look good on Bonjyng's car, the car carries them well. I personally prefer 19's, but that may very well be a mental block that when I think 20" wheels on a midsize car, they (the people in my head) scream "I'M A DRUG DEALER." I just need to get over it, because they do look damn good.

My primary concern would be sidewall thickness and the resulting greater chance of curbing them, or, if they're not forged, bending one.

I doinked one of my 18" BBS LM's driving down the road and striking a plastic tray (like one the Frito Lay dude uses to deliver chips to a grocery store). It bent the lip slightly, but it still holds air, doesn't ride funny and hasn't gotten any worse in the last two years.

Yeah man, 20s do look great, i'm just need to get past the fact that im worried about the side wall thickness of the tire incase of bending the rims or whatever, and also cause i've never driven on 20s before lol. On that note, are lexani wheels known for quality? They do seem popular but not many people mention them at all on here, and they're not that expensive at all unlike BBS?

Most people go for the sportier look of wheels, not really luxurious wheels, but a few people have done it. You'll hear more about Works, BBS, Enkeis, etc.

I've heard about Lexani's, from what I remember they are mostly chrome wheels.

There is a new law before the Senate called the Tupac ordinance that states "no chrome wheels unless the car has chrome bumpers." ya might want to check on that first.

40. Lowering car 2.1 inches with new TEIN. Had to really roll the fenders to get it right.

Sure. After the car is out of the shop in a couple weeks, Ill post pics. Still needs paint after rolling fenders. Also going to wrap the car matte black. Still lots of work to be done to make it right. I'm pretty picky.

haha nah buddy, not yet, i'm still not entirely sure if everything will go to plan, plus i still have to order international shipment of the tein SS from mrheeltoe to begin with lol, but yeah it shouldn't be too bad i hope, as long as lexani wheels are reliable enough lol in terms of quality
