Telescoping steering wheel

Some of you may have read that my vehicle was repaired following an accident recently. The steering wheel takes considerable force to scope in and out (when adjusting) and I don't remember this being normal. Could someone answer whether this should be a smooth movement? I have to jerk or shove to get mine to budge. I could have sworn that it was very smooth before like a hydraulic system maybe? Tilting up/down seems as before the accident. Thanks in advance!

I have V6 if this makes a difference with it's steering setup.

Ha ha. I didnt even know it telescoped in and out. But yeah I just tried it and it slides pretty easy. Its just as easy to go up and down as it is to go in and out.

did the airbag deploy, or maybe you braced yourself on the wheel during the accident, basically jamming/bending the adjustment mechanism some?
