New Alternator 2009 Base

Looks like I will need to have my alternator replaced. Have had the car for almost 3 year and have 78K on the odometer. Anyone else out there have an issue with the alternator? If so, how much to replace. I have to take it to the stealership as no one can get the part. Thinking of calling Honda to see if they can do anything for me.

Part # 31100-R40-A01 ALTERNATOR ASSY. (CSF89) (DENSO)
List Price: $412 most online shop gives 25% discount - $309 plus labor to remove the old unit and install the new one, probably want to install a new belt while you at it.

where in maryland are you? if you can't get honda to do anything for you.... buy the part and take it to my man dennis at http://www.i-modify.com/. he'll be a third the price of a stealership and he does amazing work. shoot him a quick email. he specializes in hondas and acuras, he's got an absolutely beautiful v6 tsx himself.

thanks for all the input. Stopped by a shop that deals with alternators. Appears to be a pulley gone bad (what a relief). I am keeping my appt. with the stealership as the are going to flush and fill the brake fluid. Anxious to see what they say (veracity check)!
