Loud Clunk/Shutter on startup on hot days
Hey all.
So I have a 2012 Acura TSX Tech. I leave the A/C in auto all year long. I have noticed that on hot days, very shortly after I start the car and when (what I think) the A/C compressor kicks on, there's a loud, metallic "clunk" and the whole engine compartment shakes a little bit. It definitely happens when something engages a few seconds after starting. After that, no issues, everything works fine. A/C has always and still works just fine.
I haven't noticed it on average/cold days (I was reading the faulty VTECH thread) - only on hot days and when the car has been sitting in the sun. Any thoughts? Ive taken it to Acura of Portland twice now, get the run-around the same time each time "we have to hear it, blah blah"
Thanks in advance for your help

You might experiment w/ starting w/ AC Off and see if symptoms do/don't appear.
If no symptoms, the AC compressor may be demanding a high load to start. Possible future problems.
If symptoms remain w/ AC off, then something else may be causing the problem; alternator, water pump, weak motor mount.
good luck
