To the dealer...sticking driver's door handle and rear deck rattle...again!
My drivers side door handle has progressively getting harder to open and then when I was on the phone I heard the rear deck rattle again! I called the dealer and they said ther is a TSB on the rattle which requires some spot welds and the door handle issue is known and it involves replacing the latch assembly. Either way, this is annoying considering the car just turned 5000 miles!

They already did the TSB for the rear shelf crackle, so this time, the rear deck was the cover by the subwoofer....and easy fix.
The door handle and the latch are getting replaced under warranty. The tech said there is too much play in the handle and the way it actually opens the door....they said the actual latch is perfect. I'll have it back tomorrow after work.

I've had a bucnh of little things with this car.....
The driver's door sticking
The Homelink bezel rattling/buzing
The rear parcel shelf noise...2 different things.
I know its not a "flagship" model, but it is an Acura, which is a quality car!
I guess the handle sticking with the way the cable is pulled on from the handle....I
m assuming. Maybe when its warmer out, the plastic on the handle and the cable stretch and get loose. We'll see tomorrow!

Its back at the dealer AGAIN for the rear deck crackle crap!
He said there are 2 TSBs that they are going to try. Since this is the third time...they have to get it right because of the Lemon Law!
I really like the car, but when I'm on the phone and I hear rattles and a metal on metal creak it drives me crazy! It only has 5800 miles on it!

In Europe, Germany we got the same prob with the drivers door, I know at least then TSX drivers. My dealer In Ger has no TSB for this prob. He put a kind of oil in but it doesnt help!
Someone can tell me where I can get this Service Bulletin?

There is no TSB for the sticky door problem. The exact cause is not clear yet: some say it's the door handle, and others the door latch. It appears to be temperature related (this leads me to believe that it is related to plastic parts expanding.
I do not want to have them mess up with the door unless there is definite solution to this, so i am putting out with it. I oiled, greased all thr parts from inside the door with no effect. The only thing that helped a bit was to sand down the door striker, the round metal part that rnter in the latch to grip.

I can almost guarantee its heat related. I bought the car in November last year and the problem didn't start until it started getting into the mid 80s.....which was about May. I had the handle replaced and it has helped....but as soon as it drops below 80, the thing is fine and opens nice. I think its a case of plastic expanding in the heat.

I just had my two front door handle/latches replaced (again). So far, so good! What a difference it makes when you don't feel like you are struggling each time you go to get into the car!

I was having the same problem with my door handle on the front passenger side. The dealership replaced it and advised that it is a known issue.
I'm experiencing the same problem with the popping sound. I have taken it in twice and the dealership kept it for over a week. I was told that the "sheet metal of the car has insufficient gap causing pop when body transitions." Supposedly there is a "special tool that is on national back order with no release date" that is needed to correct the issue.
It is very annoying and when I take it back in, now for the 3rd time, this is it! If it isn't repaired, I will be filing a lemon law complaint.

i dont think you can lemon a car due to the popping noises. it has to be a driveability or safety issue that can't be repaired. i suggest you read up on your state's lemon laws before you do that...

I just got my door handle replaced about 2 weeks ago, it's been great since. However when it rains I notice streaks down my door (I guess they left heavy amounts of lube in there). I have the rattle too but the dealer keeps saying they don't hear anything so I've just learned to turn the radio up.

Thanks for the tip and you're probably right. Oh well, I guess they'll be sick of my at my dealership because I won't give up until it is resolved. I've never had this many issues with a newer car. Does anyone know if contacting Client Services has any impact? I would like to give the dealership an opportunity to resolve but I may need to explore other options if this doesn't work out.

I also found the if you pull directly out....not up at all, the thing will never stick!
Seriously try it...I've trained myself to put no upward pull on the handle when I open the door and it never sticks.

I shouldn't have to train myself, the designer should look of every situation. Just my theory...

True, my problem is they use shitty plastic parts for door handles. As soon as it gets to 80 degrees or below....its fine. When its hot out, the thing sticks sometimes. I just don't care anymore. This car is nice looking...but other then that....its mediocre with poor quality control. Rattles, creaks, thuds, squeals...stuff like this shouldn't happen to a 10 month old car....

Same issues here, had the rear wedge tsb done it stopped a lot of the noises but now there is a distinct new one. I thought the door handle was my imagination but this makes me think it's probably not. Sometimes it's easier than others to open. Also had to have my fuel door latch replaced, several times couldn't get gas unless you got out and fiddled with the manual release in the trunk.
These are minor annoyances, in retrospect, in 93 my mom got a new grand am... the winshield washer container wasn't attached to the hose, so when I filled it it all leaked out and within 10,000 miles the head gasket blew. So I guess a few rattles/squeaks/hard to open items really aren't a big deal. Considering.

I will never buy another Acura. I have never spent so much time at a dealership and my car has less than 9,700 miles! They finally repaired the "popping/clunking" noise (after the 3rd visit) with the shims BUT I got home and discovered deep cuts in one of my rims! So far: cracked fog light, replaced sticking door handle, buzz in steering wheel cover, "popping/clunking" and now this. I have had it. No more Mr. Nice Guy...
