Exactly as I would describe the sound, yes.

I think a lot of people mistake it for the "rear parcel shelf" thing that I keep hearing about.

My car sounds like new I love it! That noise was so damn annoying...

I think they are different problems... TSB #09-019 is for the 2009 TSX, and the loose change sound is different sound from that. It may come from the rear shocks.

Yeah, I scheduled an appointement to get it looked at next friday, and the service guy told me that the TSB is for 2009's and a select VIN range of 2010's, but mine is not included in that set.

I have a 2010 TSX base and experienced the clunking/popping from the back. The dealer put the wedge in and it worked for a while, but after a couple of weeks the noise is right back.

I guess I have to take it back for them to look at. Between that and the rattling in the ceiling of the car, I have been very unhappy with this purchase. I'm actually going to discuss my state's lemon law with them on this next visit.

Had the TSB done in October and within the last month the noise came back. Monday the car goes in, again. What do you want to bet Acura washes their hands of this. The service guy I scheduled the appointment with said the wedge is not meant to last. What?!

Finally, after day two at the dealership it's not the same problem the TSB corrected. It is the strut. Interestingly enough the other TSX (2009) the dealership performed the same TSB on also had a bad strut. Hmmm...

I remove all stuff inside my car and looking for the source of that noise for several days, but I cannot figure out where it comes from... It almost makes me crazy.
Did you get you loose key chain sound fixed? I seem heard of this suddently when I pull into the underground garage. It is pretty lound when you turn radio off. It also sounds like in rear right passenager side. man, this car always give me all kind noises from anywhere.

Hi,
I'm new to the forums, I've been looking for help on a re-occurring problem with my TSX as well:

I have a 2010 Base TSX, with about 12,500 mi on it. I've had the loose change in the trunk noise since a couple thousand miles. I've taken my car to 3 different dealers. The last dealer I've taken it to hears the shock noise, and the shock (rear passenger) has been replaced twice with no effect.

I'm fairly certain that the noise is the gas compressing / releasing on the strut. I'm not happy with the noise, I don't always listen to the radio, and the freeways are bumpy, so I start hearing the gingling sound while I drive. If it was only when I went over a large speed bump, I wouldn't care as much.

To have the dealer hear it, I took it in with the rear seats down, the noise if definitely easier to hear.
I also hear this noise on a 2010 loaner I'm driving.

I've had to take my car back because of the popping sound became worse after they replaced the shocks.

I drove a TL loaner for the other time I had work done and that car does not make that noise.

Has anyone had any luck with resolving this noise?
I appreciate the help!

im at the dealer right now getting this issue looked at and hopefully corrected. i just gave them the tsb number and the service advisor ran it straight back to the mechanic. im confident it'll be fixed.

itr_1211... dont be scared about it. might seem a little unorthodox but it is really just about the only option. and a safe one too without getting too invasive.

Thanks Tannis, could you let us know how it goes? I notice a few people have had the noise come back, meaning the wedge had to have come loose. I cant see how a wedge hammered in and held by adhesive can permenantly fix this issue.

Rear Suspension Swoosh sound

I have a one month old tsx and it's been in the shop 2 weeks out of the four. First went in for front brake vibration and was fixed by having the rotors turned. They fixed the b-pillar click noise on the passenger side by putting a wedge in the underbody, by way of the back wheel well. The rear shocks made a swoosh sound when going over humps and bumps in the road. Left was fixed, however the rear right is still making the noise--Very annoying I might add. The shop foreman had me ride in another 2010 tsx and it made the same noises. He said it was normal, however the 1999 volvo I traded in for the tsx didn't have those sounds nor did my buddy 09 tsx or my buddies 05 accord. This is a problem for acura and I will be contacting acura headquarters USA. I will also be taking my care to a strut and shock specialist to get their opinion. If anyone else is having these issues please post, as I wold like your feed back as to how or if the problem was fixed.

Thank you!

No... I have visited three different dealers and they all cannot fix the problem. I am very tired of it, and I just want to wait to see if there are others that have their car fixed and share the way how to fix it.

You aint kiddin! I'm wondering the same freakin' thing. There has to be a better fix. I haven't look at the spot myself. I don't know if it is plastic next to metal, metal to metal or what... But if they are hammering in a wedge, I can't see why they can't weld it in place. Adhesive? Yes. I read the TSB. Thought it was a joke. But the service manager seemed to be a little pissed about it too. Anywho... I might even voice my own thoughts about this to the service advisor when they get the part in. I'm not taking my brand new (6 month old) car into service over and over again.

Had what I thought was the return noise of TSB 09-019 not been diagnosed as a bad strut the service dept. was going to get permission to take off the panel, look around, then determine a better fix. Gotta give credit to the dealership. They have bent over backwards to help correct problems for me thus far. Today is the strut fix (warranty) and buffing out then painting some scraps on the driver's side rim and corner front bumper, courtesy of my spouse. (We're still not talking.)

Adhesive could've come loose so the metal could be banging the wedges now. Wonder what the wedges are made out of.
