all error lights on

my 2011 tech tsx w/ 7500 miles has never given me any problems before today. last night i go to turn on the car and it takes about 20 secs of crank to turn on and all the service lights go on. vsa, engine, transmission, mainly power steering since the steering wheel needs like 20 lbs of force just to turn. my luck that the service dept is closed for the new yr even though its jan 2 already. so no loaner and im lucky they even took it in today. i pray i get a good call tomorrow. this happen to anyone else? i know the 1 gen has a power steering recall.

Sounds like more than a power steering issue, but not positive. I would def get that thing to the service guys to have them look at it. Seems to me something to do with power at the crank, causing things to not work appropriately.

i dont know for sure, but i can give you hopefully a sigh of relief. i was sitting in my car once when the battery was weak(just replaced it two weeks ago under warranty), and the car actually died. i was bluetooth streaming music, and it stopped all of the sudden. i was really confused, and all of a sudden, ALL the error lights turned on, and i couldn't move the wheel. turned it to off then tried to crank. it was dead and my friend came to jump me(luckily i keep 6 guage cables in the trunk). so most likely, its your battery or alternator

So. No relief for me. Dealer said wires seemed to be chewed by rodents. Its not covered under warranty and il have to go under insurance. They ended up giving me a loaner. I do believe them because by my job there are a lot of rats running a muck. So be careful where you guys park.

Sounded like a battery or alternator problem to me until I read their diagnostic.
That sucks bro! scares me stuff like that could crawl into your car and fuck shit up.

At least it was just rats and not what happened here...

Best of luck :p

ask if they'd be willing to goodwill atleast part of it(can't hurt, the worst they'll say is no.) i remember reading about a member who put something around his car to ward off the rats in his garage for some reason(i think he parked for a few days at a time). you might wanna look into that for the future. sorry to hear about this =/

I've heard a big-ass snake will keep the rats out if your engine compartment. Anybody tried it?

Nevermind.

Honda has had problems with rodents chewing through wires after it switched to environmentally friendly wiring harnesses that use a food-based insulation -- soy, I think.

These attract rodents who chomp down.

I would ask for a goodwill repair as this is an issue Honda/Acura is aware of. And once replaced, how can you be sure it won't happen again?
