Shop recommended by someone on this forum from the GTA Acura group . I don't have air tools so taking the nearly seized up bolts would've been a huge pain in the ass. I expected it would take me over 5 hours to do it by myself. Man... I want a hydraulic lift in my garage in the future LOL.

And it was the case. The shop PB Blastered/WD40ed the bolts like no tomorrow, no go. He had to torch them before trying again with his air tool to prevent breaking the bolts. Took him about an hour and a half from start to finish. I'm happy I didn't try to do this myself. If I ever get the HFC to replace my second cat, I might try myself.

I was maybe 75% set on getting a 12" long Vibrant ultra quiet res after initial impressions. The rasp is pretty annoying, especially on the stupid long 5AT gears. But since Richie recently posted in the "Exhaust" thread about having ordered custom mufflers/resonators for the CU2 catback, I might just hold off as he's tuning it for minimal rasp with their PCD and test pipe.

I'll try and post a clip soon.

The rasp is not thaaaat bad, but I would like to delete my 2nd CAT and I know that it will get a lot worse doing that, so I would have to weld in the resonator and what if I hate the sound more than having my stock 2nd cat lol

Yeah that's why I'm hesitant on getting the Vibrant. I mean sure it's not a huge deal to chop up the OEM exhaust and weld a second res in place. But it would've been kind of a waste if it didn't fully remedy the issue if I were to get the HFC in the future. The PCD thread is kind of all over the place, other than the fact that the rasp exists and 90% of the people are bothered by it. It's not clear as to whether a Vibrant or magnaflow gets rid of it entirely on a PCD + HFC/test pipe setup.

Do you have an aftermarket/custom catback? Or are you stock?

Can you vid the rasp? now i might buy robpp's pipe but i don't want to put in a resonator either... If the rasp is that bad i won't get the pipe.

It sounded pretty bad in that video you posted a while back though...

<<<@!1!@>>>

Asian Candy's vid? I haven't tried with my windows rolled down yet... can't seem to remember trying that out lol.

I have a cold start vid with a bit of revving.

Most apparent at 2.5-3k RPM. It's worse when you're driving and the throttle is half way down and you're in that range. Especially when I take a right turn mildly, then press down on the throttle a tiny bit more aggressively and I end up in 2nd at 2.5k, it really bugs me there.

edit:

<<<@!1!@>>>
The fuck is this shit? The result of failed quoting?

Mostly cuz it's a cold start I think. After a few revs while cold in the vid (I just had to), it eventually got quieter before my final rev to 5k. I didn't want to take it to redline as the temperature stem was still at its lowest point. Hopefully I can snap a warm start vid soon.. and if I remember, a video with the windows rolled down.

You don't want a second res because you don't wanna chop up your stock exhaust?

Lol bro your exhaust sounds a million times better. Is it catless? Forgot what you did to it. That J35 doe..

I'm not sure how I feel about this either. I drove in to work today, and it pulls way harder than before. Should be a combination of the PCD and the cooler weather these days. I don't regret the purchase, but the rasp is pretty ricey to say the least. I'm not sure whether to get a Vibrant now, or get the RV6 catback when it comes (if it comes). I'm feeling a bit too cheap to get the Vibrant now AND get the RV6 catback later.

Mine is ghetto semi straight pipe after the cat. spacers between cat and catback. Still tying to look for another stock catback to chop up for an actual straight catback. Which is also why I'm wondering if the i4 one will bolt up since it's a hell of a lot easier to find lol

Might as well save for the RV6 if it does end up coming out. That would be the more "efficient" thing to do imo since it would just bolt up and you don't have to pay for it to get welded and whatnot.

Lol no argument there. Hope Richie replies soon... I'd like to know if there's an ETA for their catback system. If it's out by next spring or so (which I doubt..), I'll probably skip the resonator and go straight to their catback exhaust, assuming it sounds decent and the mufflers/tips don't look weird.

The thirst for more power is real. Once I got the pcd, I kept trying to find out more about the HFC lol. Couldn't find any details though. No one has a review of the HFC on its own, or PCD vs PCD + HFC, with/out Hondata, etc. None of these comparisons exist. So I mean, I want the thing, but I don't think it will increase power nearly as much as the PCD did. Plus the HFC will likely make the exhaust fumes smell even worse lol, not like it's a huge deal though. Can only notice when you get out of the car.

I can't wait for my FP.

Sorry for the shitty update... this one's long overdue and was mainly for UTAH. I wasn't able to get a good shot of my rears before going back to winter mode... so cellphone pics are the best I got

xtcnrice's bwp cu2-ryjk0b9.jpg
18x9.5 +45 with 15mm spacers in the back, ~ -3˚ camber, rear fenders rolled

and.. back to winter mode...

xtcnrice's bwp cu2-4wuzrep.jpg
xtcnrice's bwp cu2-jjxbyzr.jpg
both pics with 15mm spacers in the rear, same height

I refuse to raise the car until it proves to be difficult to move around town in the snow

To be honest, I've never been a fan of that style split spoke rims, but I'm liking them more on your car the more I see it. Nice work.

This also reminds me that I have to do the same thing soon and swap out my summers for the stock 17s, sadly.

Last week in preparation for winter, I decided to wax my car. Applied Collinite 845 on my car using the Griot's Garage 6" with a HydroTech Crimson pad. The result (phone pics ftl):

xtcnrice's bwp cu2-vcmxbiv.jpg

Here she is, frozen from the recent snow storm that hit us. Pardon the massive amount of junk in the garage.

Next morning, when most of the ice had thawed (didn't get good lighting on hood, so did roof instead).

Beadsssssss...

New coat of wax in preparation for winter is a good idea if you care about the paint. The main purpose of wax is protecting the paint. The shine that comes with it is an added bonus.

The first time I waxed my car using Collinite 845, I did it by hand. What a pain in the ass lol. Since I bought the polisher to polish my car, I figured I might as well get the right pad for waxing purposes too (hence the HydroTech crimson pad). Two birds with one stone

But naw it isn't a quick wax job. I washed the car down by hand (microfiber washmitt, Meg's gold class soap, two bucket method), dried it using costco microfiber towels, then waxed it with the Griot's Garage + HydroTech crimson + Collinite 845. Let it cure for about an hour (I don't have the time to let it cure for a day lol), and buffed it off with a microfiber towel. It takes a good afternoon to get it done, but it was well worth it

She's already dirty as hell from the salt on the road... but that's really the point of the wax; protect the paint from shit like this. The wax should last me until summer.

I've been browsing some of the older threads here in the CU2 section.. have you guys ever met some of the other GTA CU2 guys? Mr. NC, speedracer_2020, etc.?
