I've been around these forums for a little while and haven't ever shared pictures.

I don't have very many good pictures yet... Part of my TSX experience was diligently pursuing Acura to rebuild the motor under the oil consumption TSB. It took months, but they finally agreed.

Once it warms up I will get some better pictures.

Here it is some time after I first bought it and after I had a chance to detail it.

Ohio is cold this time of the year. I'll give her a spring cleaning and set up some artsy photoshoots.

If I end up keeping this and not getting a V6 the mods left on the list are (and not in any particular order): RV6 PCD, custom exhaust using magnaflow mufflers and vibrant ultraquiet resonator, flashpro with vitviper tune, Koni sports, Tein h-tech/s-tech, 18" OEM wheels, various audio projects... and other things as I get the urge.

Damn I thought my 20% tint was dark lol. look forward to seeing some mods. Even if you trade to a v6, I would imagine you would do the same things. More or less?

It really hinges on my girlfriend wanting to take mine. If she doesn't I may add the supercharger to the mod list.

Very clean looking car... I have to keep my vehicles tinted also.

Love them both.

The brakes work much better than the stockers did, and don't wear out as quickly. No heat fade. Instant bite. Minimal rust.

I've had the CAI on and off half a dozen times while troubleshooting the oil consumption. There certainly is a difference not only in sound but responsiveness. Can't say it makes it much quicker, if at all, but I think higher up in the RPMs it is noticeable.

Nope! An intake would *never* cause more oil to be used. I'm not even convinced running it through vtec every day, every time will either (I tested that).

First, lets agree a "normal, healthy" engine will use some oil over the course of 5,000 - 10,000 miles. Since the engine was rebuilt under the TSB warranty by Acura, I've put roughly 10,000 miles on. In about 6,000 miles it had consumed under a quarter of a quart in oil. I've replaced it and have gone another ~ 4,000 miles and I have used 0. Actually, I overfilled it a bit. Oops! That wasn't a problem pre-rebuild because it would be gone in a couple days. I'm going to actually need to measure out 0.3 of a quart so I don't overfill, because it stays... And bulges the seals...

You're braver than me with the tint, I kept mine legal at 50%

Actually, I had an officer harass me about tint just about a year ago.. it was 6:15am (still dark) and he was trying to tell me my tint was too dark, and then I asked him what the laws were for all 6 windows, and he kept spouting off 50% for the front, and then gave me a warning for the tint and handed me a speeding ticket :/

I am from NJ and have 20% all around, front windshield has none. I have a few cop friends who tell me most of the time you won't get pulled over for it, and it mostly is a secondary offense. When its sunny out, from certain angles, and with the sun roof visor open, it doesn't look too bad.

I've seen several cars with 5% and other mods that would attract more attention (obnoxious wheels, camber, odd color headlights, etc.). My car looks stock other than the LED interior and license plate lights which now make it just have that luxury look. I also have a clean driving record and have been pulled over maybe 3 times in my 11 years of driving.

I know the risks, but love my tint regardless.

Yeah, I think if you aren't obviously modded they will probably leave you alone. I think its just a stereotyping thing. ssjoeboe probably looks like trouble. :tongue:

I did a wash, bar of clay, glaze, polish, sealant, carnauba wax, and a spray wax on top of that.

Edit: The "polish" was actually a cleaner glaze and sealant... figured what the hell though, might as well use it all. Did it all by hand as well. I'm looking into cordless polishers.

Well damn that must've taken you the whole day! I did it by hand once, and ever since I've moved onto a Griot's Garage 6" DA polisher lol. I use it for polish/compound as well as wax application.

It took roughly from 9AM to 4PM. If I had an electric hookup I would just buy a polisher but, like I said, there are some cordless options I'm investigating.

+1 to GG DA. I've actually downsized to a 5" backing plate and Megs MF cutting pads. It can fit into a few places the 6" was just too big for. Next investment is the GG 3", but its a want and not a necessity. I already have too much money invested into pads and chemicals, some I've used once only and moved away from.

Yep I've downsized the bp as well. I'm using 3 different Lake Country Hydro-Tech pads with Meg's UC and M205. Car is a 2013 and I'm the original owner, so I skipped M105 thinking the paint couldn't have been THAT messed up from the factory :tongue:

I bought the DA with the LC kit and have some Chemical Guys Hexlogic foam pads from another starter kit, but never took a liking to them. They didn't seem to give the best finish with the CBP. The MF cutting and finishing pads give me the best results. ... Maybe CBP is just that finicky?

I love the yellow top. I've ran them for my past two vehicles. Honestly, next time I'll probably try out the duralast gold from autozone because it has higher output.

Finally have an update to share! I decided to go with the Koni yellows, Eibach prokit, and an Ingalls rear camber kit. I had them all installed by a local performance suspension shop, aptly named Performance Alignment. They did a great job and have a plethora of knowledge and experience. I am very happy with the install and alignment.

I haven't been able to put the new shocks/springs through the curves, but I have toyed around with it a bit and it is a clear upgrade from stock. It helps a lot with body control, keeping it flat and responding better through corners. Still very comfortable as my daily driver!

I imagine the next suspension upgrade will be the Progress rear sway bar. I see there are some optional links for it, but I probably will just get the sway bar at first. I also am considering the spherical compliance bushings down the road.

Also on the list is custom exhaust, rv6 PCD (though I see some have mentioned possibly a high flow version of this for the i4? Someone was welding one in I think??), and flashpro. I may get the flashpro first and do the base reflash before getting the other addons.

I recently swapped out the license plate bulbs, interior dome lights and courtesy lights to some Philips LED bulbs. Very nice white light, doesn't have hot spots, and isn't blinding. I have used vleds interior lights before and found them to be way over powered and limiting their practicality. I am much happier with the Philips bulbs. I'm trying to find a good place to do some industrial style photos, as I wanted to do over the summer. I need to ask a couple lot owners and hopefully get some good DSLR photos soon!

No more mods until next summer, probably.

The red mazda 3 GT hatchback is also ours. It is my girlfriends daily driver. Really impressive bang to buck ratio.

If you don't mind me asking, where'd you get the philips interior lights from? Also, what temperature are they?

I suggest you do Progress RSB before exhaust, that way if you do decide to go custom, you can work around the RSB. In my case, I have the GReddy Supreme SP and the flange that connects the (left?) muffler to the Y-pipe + right muffler was hitting the Progress RSB. I had to extend the exhaust a bit outwards, so that the flange would no longer touch the RSB. Something to consider.

Thanks for the vid! Your car should do better with some RPF1s no doubt. What are your alignment numbers? It looks like you can maybe dial the camber lower a bit to help a bit with the understeering. Nice driving!
