Picked up some new sneakers over the weekend...

I guess you could consider this my intro to the 2nd Gen TSX community.

My name is Joshua. Most people call me Josh. Located in NorCal.

I use to own this:

My wife and I use to own a 2006 PWP CL9 6-sp w/NAV and black interior. All stock. Now we have a 2010 CU2 6-sp w/Tech and black interior. Type-S lip kit will probably go on it eventually now that I just got these...

Hopefully I start posting more here...

See you guys around!

-Joshua

Thanks, guys. Always been a fan of Volk wheels. I originally planned to put a set of the Mugen GP wheels since I had jumped on that blowout sale a while back (had a full spare, too) but after doing my homework and realizing that we can get 11 inches mounted on the CU2, the dingky 7.5in GP wheels had to go.

Sorry, I forgot to provide specs

Volk ce28n Genesis edition
18x9 +35 (i could have gone out for 10in but these were priced right, I like the offset, and no waiting period. I waited about 8months for my time attacks).
Cant remember exactly the kind of center caps, though.

Nitto Invo's in the 255/35r18 variety are currently mounted. They will come off and i'll probably move to a 245/40.

Nice RSX....I think the TSX need's 19's but it will be interesting to see how it looks with the CE28N's in 18's.

Thanks for the comments guys.

The size of a wheel for a particular car is always subjective. Personally, I'm a huge fan of 19in and even 20in for the CU2. Based on my intentions though, 19in and up is too large.

hey what's wrong with GP's?!

Good to finally see some pics josh. Those are going to look good. I'm pretty sure there was a white CU2 on here before with the CE's in 18 and it looked really good.

HAHAHAA Sorry, I didn't mean to blast the GPs! But hey I owned them too! so I'd be blasting myself hahaha. I wanted to put them on my CL9 when I had it but got rid of it before I decided to do anything to it.

I'm quite excited to finally start putting the type-s kit on after waiting forever to get it hahaha. But I have something else up my sleeve to enhance the look of the car. Nothing fancy, but it is what really sold me on the CU2 chassis so it's a must.

Back from the dead! It's been such a long time coming. Life pretty much happened (my daughter was born 04/02/12, and just recently moved into a smaller arrangement).

Let's bring all of you to speed. Type-S kit (most of you know it as the SE kit, at least the side skirts and rear bumper) was to be installed, but I only got around to installing the rear bumper. The front lip was never installed due to hitting a large piece of metal debris on the freeway. So I 'settled' for the Sports/Modulo front bumper. After 2 years of debate, I opted for the Tein Street Flex Dampers and they sat for 2-3 months before I finally got them installed this past weekend.

So without further adieu, I present to you my wife's (see what I did there; happy WIFE, happy LIFE) TSX:

Sorry for the low quality photos, I PROMISE to have better ones within a month.

It's going to get better, too! I hope anyway.

New tires are being ordered today (going to 255/40, closer to stock tire diameter). Sport/Modulo side skirts are already on order).

Enjoy, please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

-Joshua

nice!! update definitely long overdue, but congrats on having your daughter and coming back to the game! can't wait to see how it looks with the new tires.

btw your RSX was hot! I'm guessing you got rid of it because of its 2 doors?

ps: ce28ns have always been my favourite wheels... hope to own a set some day

Thanks! My wife misses the RSX just as much as I do, if not more. I actually let it go because the next phase of it's build would have cost a ridiculous amount of money (build it for road racing).

CE28n's are such a great looking wheel. I really miss my time attacks. Prices seem reasonable for a set these days in comparison to other wheel offerings, just save a little longer, you'll get a set if you really want them.

Thank you sir! Miss your RSX I see...

I'm happy Acura offered the SE, but I'm mad because I paid a lot to get the front lip, side skirts and rear bumper from the Type-S and I'm not even going to use the side skirts and possibly the front lip.

The TSX looks awesome, especially with the bumper and Volks (but I'm biased). What specs are the rims? Looks like they fit very nicely in terms of offset/width.

Yes, as xtc quoted, 18x9 +35

I finally got the tires in and installed. 255/40r18 Bridgestone S-04 Pole Positions. They are noticeably 'wider' than the 255/35r18 Nitto INVOs that were originally mounted. So much that I ended having to get the rear fender wells rolled. Anthony at VEX Motorsports did a really good job with the roll, in case anyone was considering VEX for a roll. Just in comparison between the two tires, the car doesn't feel like I've lowered it with the new tires, kind of a weird feeling. The new tires feel great otherwise.

I also got my Sport/Modulo side skirts in. I got up hella early this morning just so that I can get them on before work. Unfortunately I only had time to get the drivers side installed. I'll do the passenger side at lunch! hahaha

Enjoy!

how do the 255s feel compared to stock? must look amazing from the rear

i've been looking for side skirts for a while now but I can't justify paying ~400 for them. your car looks great with them on

Normal driving, you can tell they are 255 if the road you are on is messed up. I guess you can say they will steer themselves a bit if the road/street is heavily grooved. Otherwise I can't tell the difference. Haven't really gotten spirited with them yet. Time will tell...

It's actually not a bad deal for side skirts. I wish I opted for the Sport side skirts instead of the Type-S ones I bought if I had known Acura was going to put out an SE. Please bare in mind your hearing this from a guy that is super picky about how things fit and is willing to pay a premium for it. Totally worth it in the end.

Whoa wait a sec.. there's a difference in these?

and yeah.. I'm a cheap ass. If I can't find a cheap set of BWP skirts by fall, I'll probably pull the trigger on new!

btw.. did you follow the OEM instructions for installing the skirts? I think the instructions want you to drill into the rocker panel did you do that? Or did you 3M tape it?

Yes, there is a difference but let me provide some clarity (my own observations, and may not reflect what the real differences are between all of the offerings)

Side skirts:
Type-S = SE (look up Accord Type-S)

SE

Accord Type-S

The rear bumpers are the same as well.

The Sport side skirts are pretty much Modulo side skirts.

Modulo
https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=210

I followed the directions for the Sport side skirts (printed copy) and this post: https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...9&postcount=27

And yes, the SE and Type-S offerings require drilling from what I could tell. A few that bought the Type-S kit when I did ended up doing doublesided adhesive tape to install their skirts.

Hey Prototype, not sure if you're still alive or not but I'll bump this up anyhow

You're running 255/40s on 18x9 +35 all around. Any rubbing in the front? Did you do anything to the front fenders?
