New Member 12 TSX SE

Been lurking here for a little while.
figured id make an introduction.

Picked up a 2012 TSX SE a little over a month ago. Came from a AP1 S2000.
TSX wasnt even considered to be honest. I had my heart set on a Lexus IS350 but i ended up getting a pretty sweet deal on a TSX and when i saw the SE, i was in love.

Here are some pics of her.

When i got her

Had to ditch the chrome beak right away.

Plasti-dipped Door handles.v (not sure if i wanna keep it that way)

Plasti-Dipped Emblems

Did the A after the pic was taken but still dont know what to do about the Special edition badge. ill most likely remove it. i wish i could find a new A-Spec Badge!

Interior Trim with left over vinyl

Painted engine covers.

Ended up painting the emblem black last night.
Ive also changed all the interior and license plate lights to LEDs.
have a set of LEDs and resistors on the way for the DRLs since i dont use my high beams much.
35% Tint all around.

I have a lip spoiler i need to put on whenever i get a min.
not sure what other mods ill do. i recently had some surgery done so medical bills are killin me.
i wouldnt mind some bigger wheels and some coilovers and maybe a sway bar.
maybe tint the head and tail lights.

here are some pics of my old S if anyone's intersted.

im in N. Carolina if any of you are from around here. hit me up!

Everything looks good man! Not that I would get it right either but your e-brake is the only part wrapped in the wrong direction lol.

I like the white covers, I have them too

I would ask for your cluster but you have auto, so you can keep it.

no different. i only did the front portion. taped off the back and peeled off what i couldnt cover up. wasnt as hard as i thought it would be. just a bit time consuming.

not bad for first time working with pastidip.

im not sure i wanna keep it. the chrome handles and the trim kinda accent eachother and i really dont wanna dip the chrome body trim.

Its funny. i actually prefer the blue cluster over the red...
im not a big fan of red lighting. i would much rather have all blue lights inside but having the red cluster and the red footwells kinda throws it off so i did all white LEDs except the dome light in the back. i did that in blue.

It was a phase! lol
it didnt work out too well with all the rain we get here anyway and any attempt at clear coating, the stickers just soaked it right up. i wrapped the lip in vinyl before doing the stickers to make taking them off a LOT easier.

painted the lip to match and ended up losing the whole thing on a curb one day.

no worries on stickering anything on the TSX.
i bought a classy car and plan on keeping it classy.
i dont plan on modding too much more tbh aside from the decklid spoiler.
maybe some rims and a drop if my wife lets me.

I'm on the fence about it. I feel like it might be too much black.
Plus, I was quoted $150 do both head and tails. Not sure if I wanna spend that kind of money.

Im dyin to drop it but the install cost on springs is just insane.
I'm tryin see if any of my friends know how to install springs since I've never done it myself. I know I'd need to rent some spring compressors or something but that's about it.

A friends shop quoted me $700 for springs, install and alignment.
At that price, I may as well save up and get coils.
I believe those are a little easier to DIY right?

if you want to go low, you have to go coils cuz you can always adjust them to your liking. im lucky that i know royal flush members xD they helped me do install and all that junk give me hook ups . :P

im not really interested in going REALLY low.
i just wanna close the gap a bit and make the car a little more rigid. (im still used to cornering in a S2000 lol)

ill most likely get coils over springs.
just a matter of time and money.
id hate to not use the brand new suspension in my car.

seems like a lot of folks here like the megan street coils...?
i thought those were crap?

man.. in the S2k boards, people got ripped a new one if they had megans. lol.
i always considered them bc they were reasonably priced. may have to save up for a set.

i have no idea how to install those things though so i may get raped on paying someone to install them

i think megan came a long way to be honest, but the s2k guys are much more into the performance department so that could be a factor as well lol

i had megan coilovers on my rsx-s. They are ok, you just have to monitor them. on mine, the lock rings kept loosening, so be sure to check and make sure they are tightened. I made it a habit to inspect them every month.

FWIW, i had them on the car for ~40k miles, and when i swapped back to stock, one of the rears was leaking.

I actually like the lip wrapped in vinyl on CBP!!! There is a russian accord who wrapped his whole trunk and lip!! It looked sweet. And it was very subtle.

Ed can you post that photo I'm talking about?

Surprisingly well.
It was a random Walmart pick up and it works pretty well.
I use it right after a wash or rain to get the majority of the water off and then microfiber towel for the rest.

Would you recommend it over the absorber? My friend got my absorber dirty cause he failed to properly wash his car so i'm debating weather to get another absorber (doesn't absorb as much as I like, have to wipe area about 3 times to get small bubbles that disappear naturally) or that

ive never used the absorber..
i used to just use MF towels only for drying.
now i use the squeegee and then one MF towel does the trick.

hopefully gettin some new rims this week!

oh i doubt ill ever do it.. its a lot of work.
not to mention the cost.
itll prob run around 2-300 in vinyl alone if i do it myself which i think i could do since there arnt many curves on those parts.

what i would LIKE to do is wrap the hoods center portion following the line from the grill and back but i have no idea how i would cut it without cutting the paint..

the rims will hopefully be here this week.
18x10 MB Battles courtesy of apinwp09GBTSX

i believe they are being shipped today.
now i just need to figure out how im gonna afford tires without pissing my wife off. lol

maybe ill rock a pair of new and used so i can spread the cost out.

im thinkin of goin 245/40/18 like terdbath since im not dropped and dont plan to anytime soon.

still unsure about moving my TPMS.. i want to bc the light will drive me crazy but at the same time, i dont wanna buy a new set of TPMS and having a back up set of rims with practically new tires would be nice.

either way, im super excited about my wheels!
ive wanted battles or razors since i got my TSX.
