a little update:
coils shall be installed in spring, i have too much school work now to find time.
also, my work emotion 11r's are pending sales at the moment. if sale is successful, then it will be time to save up for some rims again, if not, i'll rock them

Young grasshopper, I shall bestow upon you a bit of knowledge known as delegation. You can work on your school work, and delegate the coil installation to someone else. If you leave those coils in the box until spring, they'll rot!

11r + drop will look REALLY good. I think thin, evenly spaced multi spokes look best on our cars. Like Advan rs/rz, ce28 kinda wheels. Congrats on the package. you will LOVE them..

Three Wheelin'
Don't be a Wuss Ed! Get them installed! Serioulsy, it should take no more than 2.5 hours if you have the right tools in place. You'll prolly spend more surfing for porn

Ed, make a facebook post and just ask someone for help. i LITERALLY did mine in 1.5hours with a buddy. Our cars are easy to install. You take off the wheel, take off some screws and replace the suspension. Our rears are easy because the top screw of our suspension assembly is located conveniently in a little compartment when you fold down our seats. We didn't use a DIY guide or anything, just eyeballing it.

ima be a bit conservative with the drop initially, once i get some wheels on i'll see how low i wanna drop lol.

Indeed, it's not like you have to compress springs or anything!

i actually just found out you don't need compressors for coils i knew springs need compressors, but i didn't know coils DO NOT need them. i was talking to my friend if he has spring compressors and everything. he just laughed and said no wonder im not doing it by myself

Three Wheelin'
Ed, all you need are you basic hand tools (sockets, wrenches, hex bits, and breaker bar) along with a 2x4 or long sledge hammer handle to apply leverage on the rear suspension to get the OE struts out. It'e much safer and easier to handle than the traditional jack method.

alright, wheels have been sold, time for some flush 19x9.5!!!
coils have not yet been installed
this is mainly an update about my ATLP grille gap.
as you all know, the ATLP grille has a pretty big gap between the hood and the top of the grille. i first "fixed" this by stuffing some foam weather strips there, but they didn't hold up that great against the wind at 80mph. so i took the rubber/silicon strip from the OEM grille and went to work
the rubber strip:
test fit:
i didn't know what method was best at securing that rubber strip onto the grille...i ran out of 3m tape and i was too lazy to go out and buy some, so i used some clear silicon adhesive to see if it'd work. im not sure if the rubber is really sticking on to the silicon or not, but i'll drive with that for now and see what happens later on.
after securing the rubber strip, i realize there is still a slight gap above the rubber strip, partly because the grille isnt pushed up enough. so here is where the weather strip comes in play
final product
in the end, you can still tell there is a gap...but the point of the rubber strip + my weather strip is to minimize the "hallow" gap (since the strips are black/gray, and my car is gray, it makes the gap seems smaller.) and also it can prevent water from getting into my engine bay.
sorry for the iphone pics, but i hope this helps with anyone who purchased the ATLP grille or wants to buy one. and of course, im open to any suggestions. if you have a better method, please let me know
i promise my next update will be coil install

Just think of it as a little more cold air cooling off your engine bay!
