Gorgeous guns...always been fascinated by them but not willing to spend the money on them.

You DO modify airsoft too, no? I was confused for most of the thread on whether or not they were real guns.

I'm back on Black Ops...my ADD doesn't allow me to play battlefield much. I just run around and shoot stuff, no tactics.

Your grill on your car came out great too, btw.

Are all these yours?!?! Or are people paying you to modify them for them?

thanks

yea theyre all mine. i keep declining offers from other people that want it done. also i dont intend to resell these. looking to pass it down to my son when he gets older to shoot. at the moment i have 1 marlin 795 (.22LR) and two Ruger 10/22 that i use to do my test fits with a dremel.

lately the past months ive just been buying up these airsoft shells and just gutting them. once when im done getting all the shells i want, then ill buy more .22 rifles so each dress up kit will have its own 22 rifle

at the moment i have 20 shells. 3 more shells to go

so ill have about 23 .22 rifles when im done

they start off as bb guns. then i rip out any electrical, spring, gearbox, battery so its no longer a bb gun.
then i use this empty shell as a dress up kit for my real gun.

in the end, these are real guns.

dont worry im a professional

^^^well then thank goodness it's expensive then!

About the guns...23 guns for a kid, seems like a fair trade. In the long run, he'll still save money.

ammo for a .22 caliber is only 3 cents around. so i can get a brick of 525 rounds for $17 and have fun on the weekend

so a Ruger 10/22 .22 caliber rifle is $230 here in Los Angeles.
add DROS fee ($25) + CA tax 8.75%

$275 out the door for a .22 rifle

The .50 cal Barrett M82 shell cost $330 shipped

$605 for a .22 version of a Barrett M82 (full metal)

a real Barrett M82 will cost $6000-$10000. ammo is about $10 a round

another rifle i use because it has a small width of 1 inch is the Marlin 795 .22LR. this is $145 plus DROS and tax

so $182 out the door for this .22 rifle

The UMP is $100

so $282 for a .22 version of a UMP (plastic). a real version of the UMP will run about $1800-$2100

ammo is about 30-45 cents a round

theyre called "dress up kits."

there's 3 kinds of dress up kits
1) buying aftermarket dress up kits
2) DIY carved wood or CNC aluminum milling
3) gutted airsoft shells

some of the aftermarket kits are a piece of crap with shitty plastic materials. most of my airsoft shells have way better materials and are made of metal. also i get more of the modern selection using these airsoft shells as opposed to the ugly aftermarket shells.

you gut out all electrical components, gear boxes, tubings, battery, everything until youre left with a "non functional" gutted shell. i then dremel out the walls to make my .22 drop right in.

im using these safely and responsibly at the firing range not at any airsoft field which is obviously illegal and a big no no

it would be illegal to fire real bullets using these electrical components.

the dress up kit is not the one firing the bullets. its the .22 inside thats legally registered and serialized thats firing the real bullets.

my .22 is a semi auto. having any type of automatic rifle is illegal and considered an assault weapon in California.

i called the los angeles ATF and also spoke to a California department of justice supervisor at bureau of firearms and they both said im good to go. they dont see any issues with this just as long as i follow california law and make sure its not an assault weapon. the law in california with these .22 rifles mean that the barrel length should be 16 inches minimum, overall length of the rifle with the stock is 26 inches minimum, 10 round magazine limit, no suppressor, no fully automatic machine guns.

id love to go if im in the area. but most likely i wont buy anything because i go after broken and used guns.
