I agree on both accounts. I do prefer the silver fogs.

and since cu2 won't install the lift kit and mudders I bought him for Christmas, I guess my 2nd choice would be lower and wider.

Only if your wheels have a wood grain finish also. Maybe some of the side panels on the car too, for that vintage wagon look.

Why make it blend into a pretty uninteresting from bumper...the silver adds some pop and contrast. I really like it.

Just hit your head a few times on the table in front of you. 3-4 dozen times. You want to kill as many brain cells as possible. Then it will make sense.

Thanks. I've still got a few parts taking up space in the garage that I need to tackle. But time has been a premium lately. And now it's cold. I just need a couple nice days and I can knock some things out. It was nice to see you pop back in to the forums again!

I'd be around more if 1) I actually had new stuff for the car, but I don't, and 2) if the car had more problems and I needed to look up solutions, but it's been pretty bullet proof to date. Not a bad thing.

All I do when I come back is add new pictures of the same old car. Good to see others' progress though.

I usually banter with the fellas and talk a horde of shit in my threads when there's nothing new to report...although I'm an over-sharer and there's usually shit I've been researching or something I want an opinion on to post.

I think it looks really sexy...
only thing that looks kinda unauthentic is the wheels but that's easily rectifiable.

Hey guys, thanks! Yeah, the owner of the wagon treated me to six mods but I could only finish one before I had to just walk on and don't worry about it.

Fog light surrounds were just potatoshop. I'll spray them for real next time I've got the bumper off. Maybe do vinyl wrap. Well see. I mean literally. I'll do it, and then we'll see how it looks.

And today was the first time that I walked up to the car and thought "yeah, it would look good with different wheels". Most of the time, it's just a passing thought that I should do it someday, but today it seemed like something that should be done sooner rather than later.

Guess I'll need to do some donuts and sick burnouts to eat up the tires so I can justify new ones.

Yeah, I happened to see those right after they got listed. It actually made me stop an think about it for a minute. But in the end I think I'm sticking to my plan. Plus, Santa mugged me and I have no moneys now.

Shoot, at that price, it'd be hard to say no... Offer him 280 and call it a day.

Where else in the world would you find a set of tein coil overs for that price?

Pull out the credit card, cujo!

Cons: 45k miles already on them, and I suspect they'd sell for about half of the cost of a new set. Also, only height adjustable, no rebound. Also, need to factor in a new set of OEM top hats and misc. hardware and stuff. At that point, it's still edging up on the price I could get a set of the Tein Street Flex.

but if someone wanted to buy me a late Christmas gift.

I'd spend the $700 on new super street or whatever they're called now.
The basis ride really nicely though, my buddy has them on his accord.
You won't ever adjust dampening ever after the first 3 days.

Why wouldn't you just put your tophats on them? Ease of install?

you don't need rebound adjustments, for a daily driven wagon. I mean, it's definitely nice, but you could make do without it just fine. I can't imagine you throw dat bish into corners at light speed, with Jr. Wagon in the back seat, or Mrs. Wagon riding shotgun.

Even at 45k, they still have plenty of life left in them. You can, of course, always offer the seller less, if you don't feel they're worth the cost.

when you do have the cash for a set of coils, you could likely sell these for minimal, to no cash lost. Just a few hours of labor. You'd still need the new top hats anyway, wouldn't you?

Yeah, I *know* that I won't really touch the dampening after getting it set, but it's nice to have the option. The rational adult in my agrees with everything that's being said, but the impulsive boy racer is screaming for more knobs and buttons to twiddle with because "gotta set it up for the track conditions bro".

I'd rather have direct replacement to minimize downtime so I'd want to have a full set of ancillary hardware ready to go. Again, I know it doesn't necessarily make logical sense; but it's what I'm going with.

Also, I'm still debating Tein or ST.

Which yes, leads to the next requisite comment of "well then, go buy Roland_Bluntzs' that he's been trying to sell for years". And the answer is yes. Yes I should.

Hmm. Except the ST's need the OEM top hats as well... So that doesn't simplify things any.

Yeah. I don't know.
