Finally got a break in the storms we've been having here in Chicago. I had some really nice other night shots but they came out pretty blurry without a tripod

Thanks for the complements. I'll be taking some new night shots with a tripod this time so I'll have some brighter night pics. I wish I had the tripod with me last night since the ground was still wet from the storms and gave it a nice effect. Since the exposure is set longer, it's really easy to pick up any movements you make with the camera. I'm using a Canon Rebel XT.

I see that your from South Florida. How do you like Palm Beach Acura? Very nice car.
So far so good...they treated me right, threw in a few freebies...I can't complain

I drove the 6 speed manual today. It felt like it had the same "clutch delay valve" that Honda puts in the AP2 S2000. It keeps the revs from dropping between shifts and is there to keep people from shifting too fast and over-revving or crunching the tranny. For me it gets in the way of smooth shifting and doesn't feel natural. A lot of the S2000 guys remove it.

The shifter was very smooth, a little longer stroke than my S2000 but certainly a nice shifting unit. The clutch was very light and easy to modulate. The shift knob is the same as the ones from the S2000, aluminum with steel inner sleeve for extra weight and a leather band around it.

Personally, I'd go with the 5AT because the TSX will be for my wife, and if I want to shift I'll do it in my S2000. Most of the time the TSX is just a point-A to Point-B shooter, so an auto works fine. I actually think the 5AT makes the engine feel like it has more torque, the 6 speed ends of feeling kind of like a Civic Si, smooth but low on torque. You also feel more torque steer with the 6MT.

Actually, I've seen that "rev hanging" on many new honda manuals - I was under the impression that it had something to do with reducing emissions.

Regardless, I'm really liking the look of the new TSX. I'm thinking of trading my RDX in for a 6spd.

Noticed that the mud guards are now colour matched like in the blue tsx.Not liking the side mold on the white tsx. Just tiny details that caught my attention.

As far as I know all the MTs these days have that delay valve. But since this acts only on the clutch (and how fast it returns) I suspect the culprit is either the DBW keeping revs high for emissions reasons, or the dual balance shafts acting like a 'big flywheel.

Nice pictures. I love that color, and the TSX looks great -- including the grille. Nice comparison shot with the 4th gen Mustang -- the TSX looks SUPER luxurious and high end next to that thing. Sorry, my hatred of Ford is showing. I better not get started on one of my Ford rants.

At first impression i liked the 08 over the 09. Now that i see the 09 more i started to like the Grill and overall styling more and more. Broke down this weekend and picked up a 09 Tech Package =) I'll post pictures as soon as i can.

My only thing is why all the TSX's have a tan rear speaker lid no matter what color your interior is! I have ebony interior but a tan lid?!

I also noticed this, not that big of a deal for me but it is a little odd.

Does the front license plate holder have mounts of it's own or are they drilled into the front bumper? IL law states we have to have a front license plate, but if i wanted to remove mine, i dont want ugly holes in the bumper.

Congrats on the ride

I haven't gotten my car yet though... any day now. Still waiting on the sport bumper kit to come in to the dealership.
The 245/40/R18 tires will give the same speedo reading and they fit on the rims (8'). I have looked extensively at the wheel wells and I think they will not rub.

I am really thinking about this size to try to avoid curb rash on my 18” wheels.
Any body else have an opinion??

Man, those optional 18"s make all the difference in the world. Now, if they just offered an optional grill, I'd be all over it next time I buy a car.

thunderbt3 : Thanks. In Cali we are required to have front plates also, although i dont like the idea cause i think it ruins the front look of the car. I believe there are no holes on my bumper but just a mount coming from the lower grill going up to hold the plate. I plan on taking off the mount and leaving the temp. DMV sticker on my front winshield to play it off like i just got the car. I figure its better to leave it on so it gives me a better chance that cops wont ticket me. =)

Does the rear speaker lid match the headliner color or is it different? I noticed that and thought it matched the headliner and I think it matches the taupe interior color too.

I really like the black TSX with tints.

There are 2 bolt studs on top and 2 bolt holes on the bottom. The top ones use a nut, the bottom one uses a large phillips head screw.

ill45: thanks for the update, i might take the risk and take the front off. My friend said he never had any problems with cops in the Chicago area pulling him over JUST for the front plate. Its usually a secondary offense if you get pulled over. He moved downstate and he got 3 warnings in 2 months so he slapped the front plate back on.

We have temp plates here also but my dealer had plates ready for me when I took delivered the car for just an extra $25 :p

I really like the black TSX with tints.

my rear lid is tan and everything else in the interior is ebony =O I was going to add the black metal interior trim to replace the tan plastic looking trim but decided to keep it so it ties in with the tan trunk lid =P

Probably going to do TINT also for the rear windows.

I agree with a lot of people here in that the looks of the 09's exterior have grown on me more and more, but to me the real main reason I picked up an 08 instead was the 4-6K difference in price and the poor steering feel. And the back view does kind of look like the Lexus ES as somebody else said.

I solved that with a heavy metal plate frame (with cover) which uses four screws. The "clang" sound was the bottom of a two-screw plate "slapping" back.

Why not just use 3M double-sided tape? If you buy the thicker one, it serves to hold it in place and as a cushion so that your license plate NEVER hits your trunk when you close it (or turn up the bass). Also, who the hell will know it's there? It's under the license plate so it will always be covered.

Maybe because the plate frame has four screw holes. It just made sense that way.

Often when the 1st and 2nd gens are compared, they use the 04-05 model for comparison. IMO, the 06-08 more aggressive body makes the 09 look evolutionary and not that much different. I can appreciate both designs...

I just don't see this huge difference people are talking about, yes the grill, it is ugly on some colors decent on others, the taillights, and the fender flares, but other than that the exterior really resembles the 1st gen IMO and doesn't feel like a total overhaul. The new accord was a big change, but this is not.

I don't see why people don't like it, once a coil-over kit comes out for it, it'll look pretty killer.

My New 09 TSX - Palladium w/ Taupe - 56k NO WAY

Here are some pics of my 2009 TSX still at the dealership; I just went down there and snapped them today. I ordered the car 4 weeks ago and I will be picking it up Monday when the clear bra is put on. All paperwork is done, and I CAN'T WAIT FOR MONDAY TO COME. On the outside it has the full sport bumper kit, 18" rims, and 50% tint. The interior has quite a few accessories and I will take pics of the inside when I take delivery of the car Monday, and then post them here. Enough reading though... here are the pics!

My favorite pic of them all:

FWIW I saw the 09 up close for the first time last week (black with taupe interior) -- I really liked what I saw.

I think that the design is a good evolution of the first gen -- very similar profile from afar, but up close, a more aggressive, wider stance, more pronounced shoulders -- altogether more substantial. And, in person, I think that the grill looks well incorporated.
