Is there any point in getting a cold air intake without an exhaust system? Will it do anything?

i am guessing he means aftermarket

since theres not much aftermarket exhaust out now..everyone only has a intake w/o exhaust and they said theres some difference in performance.

I just bought an intake and I have just been reading that it won't do much unless I get an aftermarket exhaust. I'm just getting into cars and I just want some help. I just want a little advice on what to do.

I just don't want to have to spend all that money. I just had someone tell me that "it won't do much and there is no point".

The TSX oem exhaust system is pretty good. A catback exhaust will do little to nothing for the TSX. An intake will increase throttle response and even add some power to the wheels. I'm not sure who was giving you this information because although it may be true for many cars, it is simply not true for the TSX.

i think our exhaust system is already pretty free flowing. Personally, going from the stock airbox to the Ice box, there was a noticeable gain in terms of power and throttle response. Not huge, but noticeable.

if you want a loud engine sound, opt for a K&N, takeda or injen intake. From what I've read the icebox is more for performance oriented individuals, and even then the performance gains are not enough to make our car "fast." lol
