Where to start with '12 TSX Wagon RE: Performance
Howdy folks,
I'm moving over to this forum (TSX second Gen) from the TL Third Gen forum after selling my 07 TL-s 6MT with 127k miles for a 2012 TSX Wagon with 22k miles. Honestly... I like the wagon more (and most people who know Acuras don't believe me). I just love this thing.
Anyway, I've been reading up on performance mods, and wondering where to start. I've never owned a K series before, let alone a K series with integrated exhaust manifolds cast to the head (stupid Honda). I'm used to it though... my J series had the same thing.
Anyway... Here's what I've gathered from poking around the past few days
1. CAI is available, although power is negligible (if anything at all)
2. Pulley set
3. RV6 "downpipe"
4. Exhaust
5. Hondata tune
Is there anything else? Pulley set intrigues me the most, to start. Any thoughts, suggestions, etc on where to go first?
p.s. I don't care that my car is slow and I'm certainly not trying to make it as fast as my TL-s should have been

Not to shit on UR, but their pulleys have caused a few 2nd genners some electrical problems. I wouldn't bother.
Get the downpipe, Flashpro, and a tune to start. We share some calibrations here in this thread: OFFICIAL Hondata Flashpro Calibration/Tuning Thread - AcuraZine Community

Yeah I wouldn't touch underdrive pulleys either.. Stock diameter maybe.. Like the xlr8 one.. Even then the aftermarket crank pulley does not have the rubber damper built into it to absorb pulley and accessory noises like the stock one does, possibly causing more wear and tear on your accessories over time...
Lower it. Get tires and wheels. As far as "performance" goes... just push the gas pedal harder.
The downpipe and a flash pro may not be a bad idea. But there goes your "certification" warranty. Unless Hondata claims that the flash pro won't affect warranties/you can remove it without detection (I'm pretty sure you can)? And you'd be willing to uninstall the downpipe when the car was in for service? Or if you DGAF warranty YOLO bro?
Removing emissions equipment with that downpipe is going to send the dealer/Acura into a show of disapproval of your lifestyle.

I had a UR underdrive pulley on my 03 Accord v6... it didn't have the rubber damper, hence why it weighed 1 pound vs the 11 pound stock pulley. I love it. Ran great for 10 years... zero issues. It was one of my favorite and most noticeable mods. But yes, I'd get stock diameter. No need for underdriven accessories.
I do care about my warranty, but my dealer is also very good about working with mods. so I'll probably start with wheels and suspension.

Robpp, yeah we can go back to stock ez. But the problem is we don't know if flashing (even flashing back to stock) raises a flag that can be diagnosed back at the dealership. I don't think Hondata even knows the answer to this question.
