What are you V6 guys doing for exhaust?

Seems like there's nothnig on the market and the only way you can go it custom. Why is there no aftermarket J-pipe availabe at the moment? Sure RV6 has pre cat deletes which is nasty but who wants that with a stock J-pipe. Is there any 8th gen v6 accord parts that would work? For example the 3rd cat delete that Megan racing has out, any idea if that would bolt up? Any advice?

I'm not really worrried about a catback exhaust. More into the j-pipe section since that's where the power will be made.

I have a custom made 2.5" stainless exhaust that eliminates the secondary cat with 2 magnaflow mufflers /4" tips with the stock pre-cats / J-pipe. I noticed a trememdous gain in performance. Dyno hp from 228 stock to 241. Quarter mile from 14.5 to 14.0. I plan on replacing the pre-cats and a ecu tune as soon as the official part numbers are for the TSX V6. The RV6 parts for the Accord should work maybe with slight mods but Id just rather wait since it is in the production phase for the TSX.

I would like to do an exhaust, but im just worried about it being to noisey. do you have a thread or video? I kinda wunna see what theses 4" tips look like. I ran a 14.7 all stock. This spring i would love to hit 13.9 so thats why i want more power.

Don't need anymore power until I can attached it from the wheels to the road. I get tire spin from a dead stop on a 4K rpm hard start.

upgrading to the PCDs will net you significant gains even without upgrading the jpipe.

True, I should probably look into getting a set of PCD's.

Aren't PCD illegal? Would you pass a smog test or visual inspection? Would the car stink? Would you get black smoke on hard acceleration?

I dont have a video yet but the car sounds great!! It has a deep tone with no rasp and its not loud at all. It was the " drone of death" before I added the resonator back. Its all about tuning your exhaust to your liking thats why I have it custom built. My car w/o PCD's could run high 13's if I took my 19" rims off. PCD's will yeild at least 15-20 hp and should help you see 13 something. They will allow the engine to emit some foul smells that could choke folks if you are sitting still. So if thats not for you stay with stock pre cats or go with HFC (hi-flow cat) set up. I will probably go with the PCD's and 1 HFC under the car.

No I dont run in Cecil co. I goto Capitol raceway / MIR.

Of course they are illegal because you are removing cats. You can pass if they dont stick anything in your tail pipe and you dont have a check engine light. You will have straight flowing exhaust you will have small amounts of black smoke , white smoke and flames too! Thats part of the game!!

True the TSX V6 J-pipe is not really restrictive. The gains are made when that secondary cat is removed. The pre cats are the second problem.

Also a bit of advice to you guys still running stock tires. You need to get a better compound tire so that you can put that power to the road instead of sitting still spinning tires. I have General Tire's new all season performance tire the " G-Max " . Ill tell you what I have owned some really good tires like Yokohamas, Toyo, BFG , Potenza, Mich etc. and these are some good tires dry / wet.

I am currently doing the testing for the dcsports exhaust it fits but is not completely even visually, one tip is slightly higher then the other I will be going back in for another fitting soon hopefully it will be the last one. I have not gotten to hear the exhaust they just test the fitting and take it off and send it back to the shop to adjust it.

FYI that DC Sports V6 exhaust isn't available. I spoke with them today and the test model didn't work properly, so they are having to re-engineer it again....

More months of waiting.

dc sports exhausts arent available, but as misc said, he is the test subject, so he can probably keep us the most updated. seems like it should be ready in jan or so. though idk how much he can say, probably signed some confidentiality stuff with the company
