Although I have not yet owned this exhaust, I would purchase it with confidence regarding your concern. It appears to be made entirely of stainless steel, which is very resistant to corrosion. I live in Ohio, and have a stainless exhaust on my EP3. Said exhaust has been on for over 10 years. The car gets parked outside and driven daily year round. The only rust is on the flanges (which aren't stainless in my case). Point being, this exhaust is very likely to last you for several years, even in extreme conditions. I plan on ordering this specific exhaust for my TSX; and plan on using it in the same conditions as the EP3. The only difference will be that the TSX is garage kept.
I bought mine from THMotorsports for under $800 shipped. Yes, it is made in Japan. Quality is excellent. Fitment is spot on. I have had mine on my CU2 for about a month now. When I first installed it, I also installed an RV6 PCD and test pipe along with it. It was pretty loud, and really raspy between 2000-3000 rpm. Honestly, I hated the sound of that setup. I would rather drive my EP3 with PLM header and Skunk2 system (loud as hell but smooth with no rasp) than my CU2 with the aforementioned setup. The soundtrack just sucked IMO. I then put the secondary cat back on, and it is almost perfect. Still a touch of rasp at certain RPM, but only at certain throttle positions. I do wish the piping was slightly larger, as is is a hair smaller than the RV6 PCD and test pipe. However, it fits the factory secondary cat with absolute perfection. One thing to keep in mind with this system is that it was designed and tuned with the factory cats in mind. I'm certain that it would be barely louder than stock (with the factory cats in place) unless you really put your foot into it.
Long story short, it has a deep, mellow tone at low RPM, low throttle. Tasty. You can get some rasp between 2-3k RPM, but only under certain throttle positions. Medium to heavy throttle sounds great at all RPM. It sings a beautiful song from 4-5k RPM, and sounds great all the way to redline, while not getting much louder than it was before VTEC kicked in, yo! My biggest beef is that while engine braking from 5k RPM and above, it can be terribly buzzy. This would not likely be the case if the mufflers were of a straight through design. It would also be louder, so there is that tradeoff.
I had a rasp around 3k rpm after I installed the rv6 pcd and hfc. It was almost embrassing so I had a vibrant resonator welded in and it got rid of the rasp completely. All with the oem exhaust system.
So your saying if I get the tanabe system, I’ll get the rasp back again. Damn, I don’t like that sound of that.
I can confirm that this exhaust paired with a rv6 pcd and hfc, is very loud and has a very noticeable rasp.
Also the drivers side muffler flange is extremely close to my preogressive rsb. I’m sure it’s touching sometimes during driving.
I’ll be putting in one or two resonators to quiet it down some and to get rid of that rasp.
I should also note the the passenger side muffler tile isn’t perfectly centered. It’s more to the left of the bumper cut out. Not sure if I can adjust that without some welding.
Not to change the subject but how do you like those tires? I have em too 245/45 r17. Grip fantastic and look great but I sure feel every bump No road noise.
I really like them. Really good in cornering. I have 245/40 18. They are pretty quite for the type of tire they are. I have a short sidewall so it’s stiffer then usual but I like a stiff ride.

Go ahead and loosen every bolt on the exhaust. Line everything up, and tighten it all back up. you should be able to get it right, as there are a few mm of slack here and there. When I did mine, it took me a couple attempts to get everything aligned to my liking.
Thanks, im def going to give that a try. I have to go back under the car to measure the pipe size so I can order a resonator and weld that sucker in. I might have to extend the b-pipe while im at it so it can clear the RSB.
FYI, I just realized that the rsb can be adjusted a tad. Could be just enough to clear it. you can see how far I was able to move it judging by where the bolt used to be.
I could probably drill the holes out more and move it further but I’ll be welding on a resonator and that will give me the opportunity to move the whole exhaust to where it will clear the RSB.
This is the result of just moving the RSB.

Perhaps a ride height adjustment will gain you clearance as well. It appears that the sway bar rotates within its mounting points (bushings) as the suspension compresses or rebounds, causing the "hump" of your sway bar to get up close and personal with your exhaust while in a static state.I believe this is due to decreased ride height. Before adjusting the rear ride height, you can confirm this by jacking up the rear of the vehicle a little at a time, and observing sway bar hump position vs its position while static. If you can see a clearance gain, a simple ride height adjustment may be just what the doctor ordered, without chopping your new $900 catback. Of course if you do tweak the ride height, make sure you get a 4 wheel alignment after doing so, as it will be affected by such a change.
Yeah, I’m not adjusting my perfect ride height and another alignment. I’m going to mod the pipe. Anyway, I’m welding in a vibrant resonator to reduce rasp and sound. Adjusting ride height would be a work around not a fix but that’s just me.
Besides, I haven’t had any rubbing issues since I adjusted the position of the bar.
With the car lifted off the ground, it only had a 1/2 difference compared to it being on the ground. so you would have to raise the suspension a few inches. 4x4 tsx.

Sounds like you have it under control. Please keep us posted as to how well your resonator addition works for you with regard to sound. I have been kicking around the idea myself, as I frankly hated the sound of the Medalion Touring when paired with the RV6 PCD and test pipe. Putting the 2nd cat on made it better, but I'd rather reinstall the test pipe if a secondary resonator can harness the shitty metallic buzzy rasp $#!+ f**k @$s (^#+ noise
The vibrant ultra quiet will definitely get rid of the rasp. When I had my stock exhaust with the rv6 pcd and hfc, I had lots of nasty rasp. After installing the resonator, it was 100% gone. a quick YouTube search for this resonator will show you just how effective this $90 add on is.
FYI, I’ll be posting up my tanabe exhaust system for sale soon. Just isn’t my cup of tea or maybe I’m just getting old.
Get a Fujitsubo. You will love it. ZERO rasp, deep tone, and not even remotely loud when paired with RV6 PCD and HFC. That, or just return the car back to complete stock and sell me your SC kit

I would have to look for some sound clips of the exhaust. The car feels better to me with the stock/modded exhaust. It’s not as restricted as people think.

There are clips on youtube with the same setup, but they don't do it justice. I love mine, it sounds like the car did when completely stock, just a hair more volume.
