Takeda SRI/CAI

Hello all. Coming off a 2005 RL that had alot of issues. Very happy with the 2010 TSX base manual I traded for in June. It was 2 weeks exactly when I put this Takeda intake on. Then this morning I changed it over to SRI.

I assumed it would be louder but it isnt. Granted Ive only driven it a few miles since I changed it over.

Performance.......I honestly can't say I can tell a difference between stock and this Tekada intake. And this is coming from a guy who swears he can tell a difference between high octane and regular gas. I was sold when I heard a sound clip though so Im still pretty happy.

I think after a week or so I should have some kind of opinion on if there is a difference between the two set ups performance wise.

Hey, I'm about to install mine tomorrow. Question. On instruction picture 2. You see how there is that two small metal hoses connected to the stock intake? Near where the engine is? It's connected to the black hose part of the intake. Where does that go or what do you do with it after you remove the stock intake ?

That piece actually comes off completely and is not used with the Tekada intake. Pictures 6 and 10/11 show the 2 rubber hoses that replace that piece.

Generally, CAI produces more power, because cold air is more dense and hence stuffs more air inside each cylinder. Your MAF will detect this and the computers will also input more gas into each cylinder resulting in more power. SRI just increases air flow, but takes the hot air from the engine bay. The pictures from OP are actually really good pictures to compare how SRI and CAI look different, because the first 2 are CAI and the 3rd is the SRI conversion. You can tell because theres no piping that goes down to the bumper (that silver pipe at the end of the other silver pipe )

Very easy. Just remove 3 plastic pins from under the front bumper, then loosen one isolation mount near the battery and remove the rubber hump coupler. After that you should be able to wiggle the cold air pipe out from the bottom. Then take off the filter and install it where the coupler was.
