Recommended Rotors/pads?

Hello All,

20k on the car and the brakes are beyond gone. Rotors were warped at about 8k and i've been waiting until everything had 10-20% life left before i replace it in one shot.

What do you guys recommend for the Front rotors? I'm looking at EBC Ultimax with green stuff or hawk

or Stoptech cross drilled/slotted with green stuff or hawk

What's everyone else using and recommending? Obviously i'd like something with a little more bite but it's a lease so i'm not changing the brakes lines or going crazy... Thanks!

You don't need any fancy rotors, this isn't a race car; and even racers use stock rotors.

Are you sure they were warped and not full of brake deposits?

Either way, for rotors get OEM or centric premium.

For pads, I'd suggest Hawk HPS or Porterfield R4S since this is a street car.

I've used the Centric rotors, they're hard to beat, particularly for the price.

Agreed, any good quality blanks like Centric or OEM will suffice for rotors. I don't like Brembo OEM replacements because they rust like crazy, at least, in my experience. Hawk HPS pads are great for daily driving and some spirited runs, but some people don't like that they have a tendency to be loud when cold and they dust a lot. Small price to pay for improved bite, IMO.

We have put together a package for the 2G TSX that is far more durable than the factory components.

http://store.excelerateperformance.c.../i-466578.aspx

The packages include Powerslot/STOPTECH performance rotors and STOPTECH Performance pads. All of the rotors have a black e-coating on the hubs and vanes and an advanced alloy composition. The Powerslot slotted rotors for the front of most Acuras also have a Power Alloy composition and a curved vane construction, which helps reduce heat in the brake system. The STOPTECH Performance pads are a para-aramid compound, which has great initial bite and long-term performance and lower dust and noise than most aftermarket brake pads.

If you just need individual components PM me with your info and I'll give you a quote.
