Recommendations for Slotted Rotors & Brake Pads Upgrade
 

Was looking for some recommendation concerning Slotted Rotors and Pad Upgrades. (2011 TSX Tech Package, 2.4L) I don't have enough experience with the EBC performance line (Red, Yellow, Green, etc) to know if they are any good. Ultimately I want rotors that are heat treated and don't warp. If I can avoid rust even better but the main reason for the upgrade is the warping of rotors I experience over time.

Can someone recommend some options - High to Mid-Range? Thanks.

most likely, your rotors are not warped,instead pad material is being deposited onto rotor and making it uneven.

with that being said, slotted rotors do nothing but are pleasing to the eye.

grab yourself the Autozone Duralast gold cmax rotors and pads. :thumbsup:
(I changed out my worn pads to new Duralast pads last week)

to prevent pad material being mated with rotor, a proper bed in procedure is needed.
do several 60-10mph stops, without coming completely to a stop. (dont want to melt the pads onto the rotors)

With that said, do you still think I should still get new rotors or stick with the stock rotors and pads your recommended?

once the pad material has been deposited onto rotor, it'll be hard to get it off.. you can try doing the "bed-in procedure" to kind of wipe away any deposits, but if not, you'll likely have to get new rotors and pads.
I still recommend the Autozone Duralast, as it has been treating me VERY well

Thanks for the recommendation. I am certainly happy with the price ($309.94) compared to other slotted versions ($500+). I will give them a shot.

Don't forget about Centric coated rotors. I'm using those and they are fantastic as well! I'm using Akebono pads and they alright... Lol

when i bought my tsx 3.5l v6, i replaced the rotors with EBC USR slotted rotors and EBC redstuff pads. The combination was very nice. You have to do a proper bed in to make sure pad material does not deposit on the rotors. I ran that setup for a couple of years in daily driving conditions and I had great performance. I did end up with pad deposits near the end of the pads life. I installed centric pads and with a proper rebedding the brakes are working great again.

Eventually i will need to replace these slotted rotors and at that point i will consider some autozone ones.

The slotted rotors wont make any difference for daily driving.

My 2013 TSX SE was coming due for pads and rotors and I decided to attempt myself to save a little money and use better parts from what I would get at the stealership. I did some research and ended up going with a full Powerstop brake system. Removing some of the hardware was a major PITA, specifically the factory rotor retaining screws which I had to drill out and the front rotors which were seized to the hub and needed some Liquid Wrench and elbow grease coaxing to get off. Fitted the new calipers, drilled/slotted rotors, and pads at all four corners, then flushed and bled the system with new Honda brake fluid. I worked them in this morning and they look and feel great! I’m very pleased with how they turned out!
