Glad everything worked out. You will get a bit more power from a CAI vs SRI setup (Cold air below vs warmer air on top near engine), although SRI will definitely be louder.

It takes the MAF sensor a bit of time to sense the increase in airflow, so am glad to hear your mileage is back to normal.

In theory, it does. The intake resonator restrict the airflow to muffle the noise from the engine intake. Without the resonator, more air should flow to the air filter box and hence more power.

However, a properly designed Cold Air Intake will always generate more hp/ torque by drawing cold air into the intake system.

Removed my resonator today and holy crap is the car loud without that thing. Pretty much sounds like a short ram intake. Not a big fan but I hope I get used to it. The second someone complains during a phone call, I'm goign to look into putting it back on.

I do have to say that its quiet if your under 3000rpm. But if I punch it in second gear, it gets really loud.

Hey guys, thanks for all the great information. I'm looking to remove my resonator but this will be my first ever mod-job and I'm a little green in that respect.

I'm also short in the tool department, can anyone provide me a short list of the specific tools I'll need to remove the front bumper?

Thanks!

this is the first time ive actually read this thread. ive removed my bumper over 30 times when i was working on my lip kit and never knew about that bulky ass resonator. it takes me less than 5 minutes to remove my bumper so hopefully i can get this resonator yanked out in 10-15 minutes. i saw the youtube sound clip and im really impressed with the sound.

i cant believe i missed out on this free mod!!
